On the other hand, it was the war time and a huge number of warriors were going to the war, my uncle’s friend was one of them. He left one day and never came back, my fishes also didn’t come back. My childhood and adolescence was coincided with Iran-Iraq war, one of the tragedies of human history in twentieth century, a war that was supposed to break the back of Iran in three days; but taking too long, at least it could steal my childhood from me earlier than I deserved. Successively, awful sound of bombs, to repeat and repeat this slogan… War, war until… victory! war continued and all the time we expected uncertain accidents, with this slogan which we used to repeat it every morning at school, the ruins was ours with endless sequence that we were involved. The victory was ours on Tv, but when we were faced with the exact appearance of this victory, the crowd carrying a coffin, a photo of a martyr on his cemetery and the mourning banners on city walls, we surrendered to another kind of truth, we couldn’t see the victory, because the victory means the end but there was no end. The war was continued, every time that the victory was repeated. The unfilled gap between exaggerating the sweet sense of victory and the bitter reflections of war within the life, made a strange relationship in my mind, which I have established this series of my drawing_installations on this issue, sometimes with direct references to documentary indications and sometimes with expressive stating in a surrealistic structure.
