“Look honey, I’m not saying you can’t, I’m just saying that there are better people in the world!”

Pleading had become commonplace in this household as Zen sat down on the couch with a small girl resting in his lap. She pointed happily at the television screen in front of her. A wide smile spreading across her face as she bounced about, her white hair going in every direction.Usually Zen would have been absolutely delighted to see her like this but the circumstances were different this time. He was horrified.“But look at him! Isn’t he dreamy?” the little girl giggled, squirming happily in her father’s lap.“Yea- no, not as dreamy as daddy right?” he pleaded once again, wanting to get his daughter’s attention back.“No, not really. I think Jumin is a lot dreamier!” she replied quite quickly, completely shutting him down.His depressing aura was being cancelled out by his own daughter’s powerful rays of happiness.He was getting more depressed by the second as he was forced to continue watching the program on television. He had to keep looking at that man’s aggravating face.A face that his daughter loved.

“Okay honey, let’s play a game.”This was Zen’s last resort.His daughter replied but her eyes remained stuck to the documentary of one annoying man’s life.“Who cooks your favourite foods?” he asked.“You,” she replied, but her attention was still elsewhere.“Who’s the best person to play with?” he asked.“You!” she replied yet again, her head seeming to turn in his direction but it wasn’t there yet.“Who’s the best daddy in the world?” he asked.“You!” she laughed, turning around to give him the smile he wanted to see.He laughed as well, squeezing his daughter’s cheeks and kissing her face several times.“Daddy loves you the best sweetie!” Zen exclaimed, hugging the little girl as tight as he could but not too tight,”You love me the best too right?”His mood had been at its lowest and highest in the past few minutes and he believed that it would only get better from here.“Right, right?” he pestered the little one for her answer but didn’t realise he would regret hearing it.“Mmm I love Jumin the best though!”With just one sentence he felt his entire world shatter. Even his own daughter had been snatched away by his worst enemy. Zen sobbed and wailed whilst his innocent angel gave her full attention to the man on the television screen.
