Yoga For Balancing the Doshas
This event was created to register online for a series of 3-90 minute Yoga & Meditation Classes to balance the doshas also known as mind-body types, the doshas express unique blends of physical, emotional, and mental characteristics. In Ayurveda, health is defined as the dynamic state of balance between mind, body, and environment.No experience in either is required, for we all start our journey when we are ready and you will be met with where you are at in your mind, body, and soul. Meditation and Asana (posture) are complimentary mindfulness practices that foster awareness, self exploration, mind-body connection, intuition development etc. Experience step-by-step guidance and philosophy to bring balance to your doshas and a deeper level of understanding of these three energies within our individual systems. Each person has all three Doshas, but usually one or two dominate. Various Dosha proportions determine one's physiological and personality traits, as well as general likes and dislikes. Meet your body, mind, and emotions with curiosity, skill, and gentleness. Explore yoga postures that relax and energize your body, detox trauma in the joints, ligaments, connective tissue, fascia, find greater range of motion/flexibility, reduce cortisol built up, increase hydration, clearing out lifetimes of suppressed emotions. The in-studio classes will be limited to 6 students held at our home business location here in Estevan. I(Stacey) will be leading the class along with my partner Johny assisting with postures, hands on healing, and a guided yoga nidra. Registration/payment are required to hold your space. December 6th 1. Vata Dosha -- Energy that controls bodily functions associated with motion, including blood circulation, breathing, blinking, and your heartbeat. In balance: There is creativity and vitality. Out of balance: Can produce fear and anxiety. 7-8:30pm December 13th 2. Pitta Dosha -- Energy that controls the body's metabolic systems, including digestion, absorption, nutrition, and your body's temperature. In balance: Leads to contentment and intelligence. Out of balance: Can cause ulcers and anger. 7-8:30pm December 20th 3. Kapha Dosha -- Energy that controls growth in the body. It supplies water to all body parts, moisturizes the skin, and maintains the immune system. In balance: Expressed as love and forgiveness. Out of balance: Can lead to insecurity and envy.
