I want to believe that there's a whole subsection of Blackshields in Deathwatch who are Fallen. Turns out, hiding in an Inquisitorial spec ops squad does a great job at keeping your obnoxious little brothers off your back. Oh sure, you're going to die horribly to nightmarish xenos beyond mortal ken, but that's just a normal workday for a Crusade-era Dark Angel.

All of them refuse to talk about their past, of course. But eventually the Deathwatch Fallen hit critical mass, and somebody recognizes someone else. And once they've recognized each other, they start wondering about the other Blackshields, and yeah, there is something familiar about Brother So-and-So, and maybe we should poke at him, and...

Eventually a Deathwatch captain goes to get his morning recaff and finds a Kill Team's worth of Blackshields in the break room doing this:

Unironically this is my headcanon for my Homebrew DA Successor Chapter, They send so many members to the Ordo Xenos to join the Deathwatch so that The other DA Successor's don't look too closely when they don't come to hunt the fallen.

have a "gendered" name

don't experience body dysmorphia

don't experience gender dysphoria

DO experience gender dysphoria/body dysmorphia but aren't sure what gender or body would suit them

just experience body/gender apathy instead

can't be open about their gender identity yet
