like i just think if you like... widely read cultural critique, you will eventually see a critic or artist who is well versed and fluent in the particular traditions and scenes they're involved in and insightful in their analysis thereof drop a take on something outside their wheelhouse and it's the dumbest fucking nonsense you've ever heard. and it will (or should!) totally disabuse you of the idea that "media literacy" is a coherent concept
