You resist Saturn because you don’t want to learn your lessons.
You overlook Uranus because you don’t want to stand out.
You ignore Neptune because you don’t want to see your vulnerability.
You fear Pluto because you don’t want to accept your darkness.

34) She does not give other peoples’ opinions more weight than her own.

Home Wash
To clean you home during and after an illness to help with healing.
One of the things I do after there has been some kind of illness or cold in my family/home is clean my home. Open the windows, let the sun in. Burn some sage and rosemary. Burn some lemon verbena. Wash the sheets and then hang them out in the sun. Most of all I wash my walls and floors. Like any modern witch I do use your standard cleaning liquids, but I also like to mix up a little something more to put in my wash water.
You will need some rain water if you have it and some clear and rose quartz. (Rose quartz will fill the home with a warm positive energy. I use clear quartz as a purifier.) I start the stone water at the beginning of my cleaning so that the stone water can sit out in the sun for a few hours to charge.
After a few hours
I take out the stones and mix in my herbs.
Peppermint to cool things down and promote healing. Also Mint can be used as a purifier.
Rosemary is also a purifier and promote healing, but is can also be used for protection from new illnesses.
Lemon Verbena cleans the energies of an area very well and I have found the it can add to the power of spell very nicely. (I once had a friend say that I will put this herb in just about anything…it kind of true. I love this stuff and even started growing it myself :3
I let it sit in the sun for a few more hours
Once done it’s a lot like a sun tea. I strain it out and now mix it with my wash. (If you are not a fan of chemical cleaners. Mix the herbs in vinegar in one jar, and make the stone water in another. Mix the tow jars when they are ready. Wash)
One way I charge my mix is every time I pass it as I clean, I give it three taps with my fingers. Pushing in my intent of washing away what made us sick and protecting us from new illnesses.

elemental witch practices

air dominant: wands and bundles of baby’s breath, stocking up on books about the occult, enhancing the throat center, speaking spells and incantations aloud many times, incorporating singing into spellwork, journals full of correspondences and notes, divination, getting really intrigued with niche spiritual practices
water dominant: selenite towers, sound bowls, womb magic, rose petals and bath magic, floral facial steams and tea infusions, curling up and practicing dream/astral magic, leaving offerings for ancestors on altar, asking guides for love advice/working with love deities, storm witches, practicing divination and crying about it after, glitter and whimsical aesthetic

a piece of advice my dad gave me and I’ve never forgotten is, “if you won’t worry about it in 4 months, don’t worry about it now.” saved me countless times, it’s a philosophy to adopt and help improve your life. Failed a test? ask yourself if you’ll think about this still in 4 months? Made a fool of yourself in public? I doubt even the people who saw it will remember it past today. Know you could have done better? Ran further? don’t beat yourself up over it, you can do better tomorrow. Don’t overthink things, a lot of negatives matter less than you think they do.
i want friends with whom i can visit art galleries and photography collections, exchange monthly book recommendations, take long city walks during the night, drink cheap wine while listening to vinyl records, browse second-hand bookshops, spend all day in little libraries, sit on balconies and take pictures of the evening sky

Astronomy Terminology 🌌🌠🌟

A
Absolute Magnitude A scale for measuring the actual brightness of a celestial object without accounting for the distance of the object. Absolute magnitude measures how bright an object would appear if it were exactly 10 parsecs (about 33 light-years) away from Earth. On this scale, the Sun has an absolute magnitude of +4.8 while it has an apparent magnitude of -26.7 because it is so close.
Absolute Zero The temperature at which the motion of all atoms and molecules stops and no heat is given off. Absolute zero is reached at 0 degrees Kelvin or -273.16 degrees Celsius.
Ablation A process by where the atmosphere melts away and removes the surface material of an incoming meteorite.
Accretion The process by where dust and gas accumulated into larger bodies such as stars and planets.
Accretion Disk A disk of gas that accumulates around a center of gravitational attraction, such as a white dwarf, neutron star, or black hole. As the gas spirals in, it becomes hot and emits light or even X-radiation.
Achondrite A stone meteorite that contains no chondrules.
Albedo The reflective property of a non-luminous object. A perfect mirror would have an albedo of 100% while a black hole would have an albedo of 0%.
Albedo Feature A dark or light marking on the surface of an object that may or may not be a geological or topographical feature.
Altitude The angular distance of an object above the horizon.
Antimatter Matter consisting of particles with charges opposite that of ordinary matter. In antimatter, protons have a negative charge while electrons have a positive charge.
Antipodal Point A point that is on the direct opposite side of a planet.
Apastron The point of greatest separation of two stars, such as in a binary star system.
Aperture The size of the opening through which light passes in an optical instrument such as a camera or telescope. A higher number represents a smaller opening while a lower number represents a larger opening.
Aphelion The point in the orbit of a planet or other celestial body where it is farthest from the Sun.
Apogee The point in the orbit of the Moon or other satellite where it is farthest from the Earth.
Apparent Magnitude The apparent brightness of an object in the sky as it appears to an observer on Earth. Bright objects have a low apparent magnitude while dim objects will have a higher apparent magnitude.
Asteroid A small planetary body in orbit around the Sun, larger than a meteoroid but smaller than a planet. Most asteroids can be found in a belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The orbits of some asteroids take them close to the Sun, which also takes them across the paths of the planets.
Astrochemistry The branch of science that explores the chemical interactions between dust and gas interspersed between the stars.
Astronomical Unit (AU) A unit of measure equal to the average distance between the Earth and the Sun, approximately 93 million miles.
Atmosphere A layer of gases surrounding a planet, moon, or star. The Earth’s atmosphere is 120 miles thick and is composed mainly of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and a few other trace gases.
Aurora A glow in a planet’s ionosphere caused by the interaction between the planet’s magnetic field and charged particles from the Sun. This phenomenon is known as the Aurora Borealis in the Earth’s northern hemisphere and the Aurora Australis in the Earth’s Southern Hemisphere.
Aurora Australis Also known as the southern lights, this is an atmospheric phenomenon that displays a diffuse glow in the sky in the southern hemisphere. It is caused by charged particles from the Sun as they interact with the Earth’s magnetic field. Known as the Aurora Borealis in the northern hemisphere.

💫 affirmations for the witch of color 🕊
my ancestors live within me, and i access them through my breath, offerings and tuning into my body. they watch over me, and i honor them often.
i am safe, i am protected, and my energetic shield is strong
i attract other witches of kin who value my emotional labor, boundaries and friendship
i am constantly learning about who i am, unfolding into a happier and healthier version of myself every day
i discern which practices are right for me. if a practice feels colonial, violent or just doesn’t sit right with me, i banish it from my awareness and ground myself in the power of my ancestry instead
i engage in self-care practices by cleansing, recharging and regrounding myself often. even if i am low energy and sometimes don’t feel like i belong in the world, i am always welcome within my Heart and my other witches of kin. i am understood. it is okay to remove myself from the violence of the world sometimes. when i am recharged and ready, i will continue to give back to my community and strengthen my magic
joy and happiness, health and wellbeing, evolving and learning are available to me at every moment
i am loved, i am important, i am powerful and i am beautiful
you need to give yourself permission to be happy now. not when you lost weight, not when you found your soulmate, not when you have more money. we seek excitement from future events, but once those goals are met, the temporary pleasures will pass and they will be replaced by the next fantasy. devote your full attention to your inner self and appreciate being in the moment. happiness is never external, but a way of living and appreciating life. it’s not reality, just the way you perceive it. so go and shift your focus from the outcome to watching yourself grow.
Astrology: The 7th house and the relationship partner
Our ascendant sign indicates how we distinguish ourselves as an individual. It depicts the characteristics we project into the outer world and how we proclaim our “I am”.
In regards to this, our descendent then indicates who we declare as “They are”. The sign here indicates the type of people we attract or are attracted to as they provide contrast to who we define ourselves as - Ever heard “opposites attract”?
The 7th house is often associated with romantic relationships, however this is commonly the simplified modern interpretation of this house.
Essentially what the 7th house represents is any situation where you are in ‘contract’ with another person in a one-on-one circumstance. You come to agreements here, and this is why this house is associated with the marriage partner (and also business relationships and deals, as well as law and close friendships).
The sign here indicates the characteristics attractive in another person, and also indicates who is drawn to you. It is often 9 times out of 10 that we have our longest and most successful relationships with people who have the sign on out descendent on one of their personal planets or their rising sign.
Many other factors can alter this such as:
The ruler of the sign on our DC (sign/house and aspects play a vital role in interpretation)
Venus house, sign and aspects
Juno house, sign and aspects
Looking at the ruler of the 7th house and its condition is very important if you 7th house is empty!
No…this does not mean you’ll live alone with 9 cats and a parakeet called Charlie…your 7th house ruler will give you more information as to the nature of your potential future relationship partner.
In fact, if your 7th house is empty, the bond you can create when someones planet falls into this house can strengthen your connection with them as their presence seems to ‘complete’ you in a way you find magnetic and romantic.
Check the sign on your descendent + the sign the ruler is in (regardless if you have planets in the 7th or not) as this will highly indicate the most likely people you’ll form relationships with.
Note* This will also indicate how you will act in relationships with other people! (This will greatly depend on if you subconsciously project these characteristics onto another person/if they have planets in this sign)
Also take note of any planets in the 7th house
* The house of the 7th ruler (+ aspects) will also have an influence - for advanced readers

Interceptions: FAQ
“What is an interception?” It’s called an interception when an entire sign is contained in a house, falling between two cusps rather than on either of them. This is what it looks like.
When one sign is intercepted, its sister sign will be as well; in this chart, the sign of Cancer is intercepted in the seventh house (between the 7th & 8th house cusps) so Capricorn is also intercepted, in the first house (between the 1st & 2nd house cusps). The cusps end up landing on the signs on either side.
Planets can be intercepted as well; an intercepted planet is simply a planet posited in an intercepted sign.
“What is a duplication?” Duplications are caused by interceptions. A sign is duplicated when two house cusps fall within it. This is what a duplicated sign looks like (from the same chart as the screenshot above).
Again, when a sign is duplicated, so will its sister sign be. In this chart, Gemini is duplicated on the 6th & 7th house cusps, and Sagittarius is duplicated on the 12th & 1st house cusps. This is because the houses & signs form axes.
Interceptions & duplications cannot happen in equal house systems.
“What do interceptions & duplications mean?” They indicate an immense imbalance of energy. The intercepted signs are buried, repressed, overshadowed, and basically not allowed or able to operate normally in the chart. On the other hand, duplicated signs work on overdrive & typically have “too much” influence. Both of these things are very unhealthy.
“What do intercepted planets mean?” Intercepted planets are hindered, internalized, weakened, and (again, like intercepted signs) basically not allowed or able to operate normally in the chart. They have to be reached & brought out, like retrograde / 12th house planets in a way. They’re trapped because their mode of expression is stifled.
“How do I regain balance & heal my intercepted signs / planets?” This is a very personal process that no stranger can help you through without analyzing your natal chart as a whole. Remember to use common sense; look at what the sign/planet in question is associated with, locate the core of the problem, and make the healthy decisions you feel will solve it.
“Once the imbalance & issues of interceptions / duplications are resolved, where would the intercepted signs manifest, since they have no influence over the areas of life represented by the houses?” They would manifest through the placement of their ruling planet, and possibly as a shadow of the house they’re intercepted in (behind the influence of the sign on the cusp). When the function of the sign is healed, its energy will come through no matter what, so you just have to look for it.
“What if the ruling planet of the intercepted sign is very strong?” It may be relatively easier for you to bring it out, because you have an equivalent energy to channel it through. Or the interception may not be much of a problem at all – the ruling planets function similarly to their signs, so it may work itself out naturally. It depends on the rest of the chart.
“What if the ruling planet of a duplicated sign is intercepted or weak?” If it is weak, there will be less of a problem, because the sign will not be as consuming & will have limitations. If it is intercepted, it will be even more of a confusing experience, because the excessive expression of the sign will not have a clear course & the native may end up subconsciously trying to repress it entirely or inflate it further. It also depends on the rest of the chart.
“What if the house associated with the intercepted sign is strong?” It may increase the influence of the archetype, or have no effect. (Note: it will not increase the sign’s energy, only the power/prominence of its archetype.)
“What if the house associated with the duplicated sign is weak?” It will likely not have a notable effect.
