I'm not satisfied with the design, but I do love the idea of implementing different cultures here

Ourania, muse of philosophy and astrology
I wanted her to be like a cool-nerd teacher. I like the idea, but the silhouette and color palette doesn't convice me, I'll change it later.
A first design try-out for Kalliope, muse of rethoric and epic poetry
I just finished Where are your boys tonight? and I think.... I'm glad people are supportive of Brendon's path. I know so many hate him (I'm not gonna talk or count the allegations) for changing Panic!, and like, yeah, panic was enver the same, Ryan is great and Fever is the best album. But, you know, it's allright. I like post-breakup Panic! and the stuff Brendon has done after. Yes, even Vengance, like, sure, it's not a masterpice, waaayyyyy far from it, but, I don't think is garbage. But like the guys in the book said: He's a theather kid, a showman and someone who is there mostly for the ride.
Of course the people mentioned in that section, just talking good about him, were pre-selected, only the good bits made it into the book.
In the end, Panic!, the trademark, has gone through a lot, ups, a lot of downs, and reading this book, which came out just 2 months before the official end of Panic, makes me reflect on... everything about this band which is one of my favorite ones. What it means to keep a trademark alive while also just doing your own thing but not wanting to let this one die yet.
Maybe Panic should have died with Pretty. Odd. or even before. But one truth that a lot of people really should understand about everything that happend after: Neither Brendon nor Ryan nor anyother of the band members liked the world they were trapped in.
No one, really.
No one liked the word "emo" and Ryan hated that world. All of them wanted to do something different to what they began. Is just that Brendon didn't wanted the trademark to die.
JONATHAN DANIEL: The band ecosystem is very unusual. You get in a band and you’re like, “If we could just get a record deal, everything would be great!” But a few years go by, and success and money and decisions are tied to it. You’re like, “I don’t know if these are the right guys to spend the rest of my life with. I don’t know if I want to make this kind of music.” I think that was a big thing for Ryan. I remember doing a radio show with The Academy Is . . . in Chile, and the host asked the kids, “Do you love Fall Out Boy?” YAY! “You love Panic!?” YAY! “You love Academy?” YAY! “You love Cobra?” YAY! “You love Paramore?” YAY! I went outside and I called Ryan. I was like, “Oh my god, I think I figured out why you’re so depressed.” I was like, “You hate me. Not me personally, but you hate what I represent. And you hate Fueled By Ramen and you hate Panic!” And he’s like, “I didn’t sign up for any of this shit. I didn’t know what I was doing. I don’t want to be forced into wearing eyeliner and things.” It was just a real moment. That really was the end of that era of Panic!, that phone call.
In any case. it's done. They all moved on. And as long as they are all happy, that's all that matters.
I don't know how this year's When We Were Young will go, but the biggest reason I just know it's not a reunion, it's because of this quote, and all the nostalgia that comes with this.
listening to all this bands from the book, really just made me realize something:
...I'm not really a fan of what some might call "pure emo rock"
I'm still gonna keep reading it, simply because the gossip is fucking intense
I literally just started listeting to Racetraitor, which, if you don't know, was one of the bands Pete Wentz and Andy Hurley were part of before founding Fall Out Boy.
And Oh boy... Racetraitor is all about hardcore metal punk. The evolution from that to pop in Mania... they've really come full circle in the spectrum of music
Everytime I finish my medication for my rrinitis, I just ignore it because I'm fine, and every damn time, a few days pass, and I'm remided for why I need the medication
ok but why is Panic! included within the emo trinity/quartet???????????? the only emo thing ever release under that name was Fever, maaayyyybeee a bit of aestetic in Vices & Virtues, but that's it.
MCR died emo, and FOB did mantain a sort of punk style, and even the, their first, like, 4 albums can fall under that category, but Panic??????????????
I love panic, I like the variety, but seriously, who's random shitpost from 15 years ago came up w this and why do people still use it? it doesn't make sense
Anyways, I found this book called "where are your boys tonight?" which is basically a book-long interview with people who where *there* during the rise and fall of the golden day of emo. I'll update you here about my findings, as someone who, honestly, doesn't know much about this wild, exotic times when Myspace was popular
So this started because I wanted to learn more about MCR and I think I've officially fallen down the Rabbit Hole called "2000s emo lore" which includes fanfiction, crazy fans who will pretend to be someone else, a lot of p*do allegations, and a lot of shiping.
I wasn't there, but from the looks of it,like, I know the internet Nowdays is intense and wild, but back then, it was just... bizarre
Sometimes I feel like Learning the guitar. But Then I see a photo of Frank Iero's bloody hand after playing in an old archived Twitter post and suddenly I don't feel like it anymore
TIL Gerard Way is the Creator of Peni Parker. And I feel like that explains a lot
alright, so, I don't watch One piece, and I only know a few things, including the fact that (apparently) all devil fruits make you unable to swim.
Now I want someone to make an animatic or tik tok or comic or ANITHING with the characters of one piece with the song Suffering, to finally make it make sense
Ok but hot take: I want three actors for Odysseus and two for Penelope.
Young Odysseus during warrior of the mind, The one who will act for most of the story, and a middle-aged man for post timeskip Odysseus.
A young actress for the singing during Keep your friends close and Suffering (since that's how he remembers her) and an older one for the Ithaca saga.
And when would you fall in love with me again gets to its climax, we might see the younger actors singing part of the climax alongside the older ones, to reeaaallyyyy feel just how much time has passed.
So I was looking at the JesusChrist Superstar Swedish Arena Tour and....WTF did they smoke???? when did this became an Erotic Vampire Novela???????
BSD READING CHALLENGE
This book makes me realize how much overrated are the so-called "classics" and "great american novels"
Do I really need to say anything about this shit, anything that hasn't been said?
Racism, sexism, pedophilia, glorification of slavery, rape, and soo much more.
I will say this: I did like the first third of the book, like, up until Scarlet goes back to Tara during the attack to Atlanta. It was fun, interesting, and, honestly, I did like the interactions between Rhett and Scarlet, those two are hilarious. I really think if it was more of a sibling relation or a gossip between two adults (sort of like Alastor and Rosie) i would have Loved it. But, that's not what happend, rRhett is another of the pedophiles of the book, Gerard and Frank are pathetic and they deserved their end, this book is shit and I don't know what the actual fuck was going through Mitchell's head when writing all of this.
2/10 simply because it is better than the Scarlet Letter....Stuff happends and I actually felt something (rage)
