I just love how Samaritan tried to break Shaw with the simulations so that even if she did escape, she wouldn’t be able to trust herself, but then Root comes along and is somehow more unhinged than Samaritan OR Shaw predicted and completely snaps Shaw out of it?? She rocks up like actually Shaw the real me would shoot myself in the head for you, sorry you didn’t have that faith in me and Shaw’s like oh. yeah no that’s the real one. That’s just peak romance to me baby

And you know while I’m on the subject. Their love for each other being shown in very opposite ways is soooo excellent. Root shows her feelings with words - the flirting, the 'can you give shaw a message', the pet names. Shaw shows it in actions - cycling across state lines because she doesn't want root to be alone, checking her wounds, leaving the subway because root's in danger, the kiss!

And as their relationship progresses, we see them learning each other's languages! Shaw complying with the 'maybe someday' and '4af' conversations, explaining how she could never kill root in the sims, Root reaching to hold her hand, Root putting a gun to her own head because her words aren't quite enough.

Like genuinely the romance of all time don't even talk to me.

You're telling me there were over 7000 simulations (basically the whole 9 months) and Shaw couldn't kill Root once? Not once?

Samaritan literally corrupting her into murder and showing the machines location and didn't think that if it had just stopped trying to get her to murder Root it probably would have caused the outcome it wanted.

Shaw literally murdered Reese hundereds of times yet ask her to kill Root and nope- she's eating a bullet as her last meal.

Wild.
