Note to self : It’s never too late to turn back to Allah .
Allahumma salli wa sallim ‘ala nabiyeena muhammad
Gentle reminder to recite Surah Kahf, it’s Friday 💛
.
When I was young, my brother would teach me Quran during my memorisation sessions with my brother, I would always be curious as to how much Quran he had memorised. I would ask him and he’d always make a joke out of it with a Yardie accent for jokes - I’d never get a straightforward answer. As time would go on, he’d drop me small lessons, telling me how every time I sin, a bit of my Quran memorisation would leave me.
The years went by and he made Hijra for the sake of Allah to sham. I managed to speak to him on the phone one day and said to him, “We are both grown men now so tell me honestly, how much Quran do you actually know?”. So he replied with the exact same joke he would put on all those years ago!
Although I was laughing with him, I was actually frustrated. At that moment I was told that he was a Hafidh of Quran for years. My father jumped up in shock. As did I. He was a Hafidh all those years and kept it to himself whilst his family had no idea. Now ask yourself, have you met a person like this in the 21st century? Have you met anyone who is so sincere with Allah that they don’t even tell their nearest and dearest of this beautiful deed?
In this day and age, brothers would usually hint that they are Hafidh of Quran, say it themselves or at least love for someone to point it out on their behalf. The only stories I know till this day where the people keep such a deed PRIVATE between themselves and Allah are the Sahaba and the Salaf.
On social media we get brothers titling themselves as “Shaykh” because they have a beautiful voice. We have people who record themselves reciting Quran in a beautiful manner but only to seek attention, good comments and the “Insta Fame”. This Mushaf was my brothers personal one. From it you can see the wear, tear and repair it went through as he had this close to him for many years before leaving for the sake of Allah.
The sweet thing about this is that he would tell another brother who was also a Hafidh to lead salah, saying “You lead Salah because you know more Quran than us.” When word got out that he was a Hafidh, the brother felt betrayed 😂

SAVE THIS DUA FOR DAY OF ARAFAH:
Ya Allah, remove all the anxiety, overthinking, and trauma from my mind, body, and soul. Let me find joy and love in my life again. Build the identity that is no longer held back by my past. Let me know who I am, my potential, my strength, and let me go all in. And make my reliance, belief, and certainty in you so strong that my fears don't get a chance to hold me back. Ameen
Aameeeen
It’s just the stuff that people don’t know about. But Allah does.

Every day in med school gives me so many reasons to be grateful.
Fr. I was on my way back home and the driver asks me what speciality I aspire to get in . I said the first thing that came to my mind and he then told me about his wife who has been suffering for months now . He told me how grateful he was for the doctor who has been taking care of her for past few months and how she’s better now . “She has done a lot for me in my most difficult days , it’s only fair if I do the same for her” he said. These tiny interactions fill me with so much warmth and gratitude. Alhumdulillah!

As for those who struggle in Our cause, We will surely guide them along Our Way. And Allah is certainly with the good-doers.

Dua for protection against Dajjal
Allahumma inni audhu bika min adhabil-qabr , wa min adhabi jahannam , wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat, wa min fitnatil-masihid-Dajjal.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of Hellfire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah the Dajjal.
Life hack #12
Make dua for strangers. Make dua for people without them even asking for it.
Life hack #11
If you have a lot going on in your life and you’re constantly on a go go go mode but really want to have atleast one khtm of Qura’an , start reading a page or two in between tasks , commute , waiting lines . Literally anywhere and everywhere, off your phone if it’s not possible to carry mushaf.
