Important announcement!
Hey everyone, as you may have noticed I haven't been as active lately and the competition's fallen a bit by the wayside, but that's because I've been working on some important things! (hope you didn't think I'd abandoned you!)
First of all, I've decided to make some pretty big changes to the battle, including the basic concept and rules! Here they are:
The competition will no longer be sample-based, and with no time limit! There are a few reasons behind this; first, people have work to do, and making a whole song in a week takes a lot of time (honestly, more time than I feel comfortable asking of anyone). I'd rather people have more time to work on something completely for themselves. Secondly, I want to give people as much creative freedom as possible, including people who make music outside of a sample-based format; I want to hear and showcase your specific, unique styles! Thirdly, a week isn't a lot of time to make a song! This change will allow people to take as much time as they need, with no limits.
The name will be changing! Something that I noticed recently is that the acronym of "Sal's Tape Deck" is rather unfortunate ( ...yeah). The name of the compilation will be changing to Airlifts! This means that I will also be changing this account's URL from salstapedeck to fauxparachute-airlifts.
I'll update this as I think of more things, and post the new guidelines soon! Submissions will be open again this Saturday at 12AM (you can use the same link from the past few battles)! Send as many tracks as you want!
