Cam is able to harness the magic in his hair to create a circle of light. Anyone within its radius will not just be healed of their injuries, but also shielded from magical and physical attacks.

Campanula is probably one of the token examples of what an RSA student is/should be like. He is your bright-eyed, approachable, and helpful 2nd-year with a creative soul. He is (literally and figuratively) a ball of sunshine. Despite his seemingly self-assured attitude, his closest friends know that he is a boy who struggles with his self-worth, especially as a powerful healer at a young age. He is self-sacrificing to a fault, being quick to take the blame even when it isn't his fault. But above all, his love of the arts forms his optimistic, whimsical views of the world.

The flowers were fragrant, filling the air with their sweet aroma. There was a huge cake with a little groom made of sugar, standing right next to a tall bride, also made of sugar. Few guests were gossiping about the odd celebration they were about to witness. Since Malleus’ overblot, the word got around: the last Bladeville Prince was alive. And not only that, but he was also one of the Crown Prince’s retainers. Despite his position as a prince, he never felt the urge to claim land. He knew exactly who it belonged to. He mentioned both his father and prince that he wanted to give it back to Briar Valley’s Queen. It was the right thing to do. But he never imagined that the only way to do so was to marry the queen. So there he was. Wearing his silver armor. Holding a bouquet of white flowers. His father wearing his old General armor too. “Oh my sweet boy! I can’t believe you’re getting married!” Lilia chirped as he fixed his son’s cape. They were both standing in front of a mirror. “This is one of the happiest days of my life. You are all grown up.” “Father, please” Silver said trying to remain calmed. “Of course, of course, wedding jitters! Take deep breaths, I’m just walking you down the aisle, your bride will be there. She’s the most beautiful woman of all the kingdom and…” “SILVER!” Sebek entered into the room. He was wearing his armor too. Such a special day deserved their best clothing. “Her majesty is ready. It’s time” The knight took a deep breath. The music began. Lilia held Silver by his arm, smiling. Some guests looked at them with real confusion drawn on their faces. Silver walked with all the dignity he could gather in the few minutes he spent with his father before the ceremony. He reached the altar and the priest nodded at him, as a reassuring gesture. “It’s for the kingdom” whispered the knight for himself “I hate to say this, but you are braver man than I” Sebek said while taking his spot as the best man of the groom. The sound of all the guests standing up and the unmistaken introduction of the wedding march marked the moment of truth. Silver gulped and took a deep breath, just as Lilia told him to do. He turned to see his future bride. The towering figure of Queen Maleficia walked regally through the aisle. A faint smile on her face. The priest started the ceremony. They agreed to skip the vows. They were just going to seal the deal as a contract. Silver felt a shiver when the man asked him if he vowed to marry the woman beside him. He took her hand and with a firm voice declared “I do”. The queen smiled and declared the same, putting a ring on Silver’s finger. “By the power invested on my by the Queen and the Senate, I declare you husband and wife” the priest said. “You may kiss the bride”. Silver gave the woman a kiss on the cheek. Lilia cheered while Malleus clapped. Sebek wiped a tear and the guests remained silent. “Your majesty” said Lilia approaching the newlyweds “you may call me “dad”” he added with a broad smile. “I shall not” “Oh, come on! You married my boy” he teased, hoping the queen did not send a lightening towards him. “Oh, look” Malleus said looking outside “fireworks” He had a smug smile on his face. Those weren’t fireworks for sure. Those were the Senate burning in despair. The heir of their enemy, the son of the very own Lilia Vanrouge was now the consort of the queen. Even only in name, he was now royalty. And that was something they couldn’t stand. Malleus knew it, and he was amused to see them, finally, exploding and going to the place they belonged.

Writing advice from my uni teachers:

If your dialog feels flat, rewrite the scene pretending the characters cannot at any cost say exactly what they mean. No one says “I’m mad” but they can say it in 100 other ways.

Wrote a chapter but you dislike it? Rewrite it again from memory. That way you’re only remembering the main parts and can fill in extra details. My teacher who was a playwright literally writes every single script twice because of this.

Don’t overuse metaphors, or they lose their potency. Limit yourself.

Before you write your novel, write a page of anything from your characters POV so you can get their voice right. Do this for every main character introduced.

For some reason, it never occurred to me that Project Gutenberg would have public domain old cookbooks. This is BRILLIANT. There’s a 1953 cranberry recipe pamphlet and a suffrage cookbook from 1915 and a translation of Apicus’s guide to food in Imperial Rome and a whole bunch of other fascinating old cookbooks, many pre-1800. Treasure trove!

Xander can summon and construct things out of obsidian-like material so long as he understands how it works. The more thoroughly he can comprehend how something works, the more effectively he can manipulate it.

Xander can be described as an unconventional Royal Sword senior. Unlike the princely types that are usually seen roaming the halls of RSA, Xander acts more aloof and prefers to keep it that way. Xander is also pretty snarky and headstrong, which only contributes to his unapproachable demeanor. Underneath that tough facade, is a free-spirited boy with a love for the outdoors and the people he holds close to his heart. Xander also has a competitive streak, especially when it comes to athletics, more often than not getting caught up in his personal victories, neglecting his teammates, and opponents. After getting out of that mindset, he does make sure to own up to his mistakes the best he can.

The (Vice) Prefect of Ramshackle Dorm, Vicki never imagined her life would get turned upside down for the second time when she found herself isekaied into Twisted Wonderland. Having been a Junior in her old high school, She finds herself as a 1st year in NRC, navigating her way through this new world as she makes new unlikely friends along the way.

Vicki isn't an extrovert nor is she an introvert, though she may seem like the latter at first due to her not being very talkative. Most of the time, Vicki doesn't know how to talk to her peers due to her overthinking a lot. She tends to look distant and uninterested at first, but get to know her and she shows her cheeky and chaotic side. As much as she would like to relax and enjoy her new chance at high school life and stay out of trouble, trouble seems to find her wherever she goes. At least she has the Adeuce duo to watch her back.

Sometimes she tenses up and suddenly acts defensive and curt, mainly around certain individuals and strangers. Case in point, Vicki doesn't like being casually touched by people she isn't familiar with, often backing away if possible or taking their hands off of her. She tends to be dodgy when confronted with personal/nosy questions, giving brief answers or avoiding answering altogether. Being pushed to give answers will result in Vicki getting angry, sending a glare as a sign to stop. Despite these flaws, she is very loyal to her friends and wouldn't dare think about abandoning them in any situation. She is quick to think on her feet, coming up with spontaneous solutions in dire situations. Vicki can be impulsive at times, but it doesn't compare to both Grim's and Adeuce's tomfoolery.
