In classic Kirio fashion, the Ruler of Grain had readied them both a pot of tea, alongside an exquisite selection of rice cakes; finding herself comfortably seated at the table of treats by the end of the serving—a silent invitation for her fellow former captain to join the feast.

“Ah, guess that’s your cue to further familiarize yourself with my friends’ sense of humor, then,” she chuckled as pudgy fingers swiftly tore the snack she’d got in her hand; revealing the red bean paste filling that soon flew into her hungry apperture.

At the mention of Hiyori’s name, the munching movement of her jaws slowly ceased before eventually came to a complete halt—followed by a quick sip of the warm drink to ease the lump’s way down her throat.

“Oh~? I thought having the girl constantly putting you in my shadow would’ve left some sort of bitter taste in your mouth, but apparently that’s not the case, huh? My my, you surely are a man of never-ending surprises, Kisuke!” rotund cheek resting itself upon the softness of her palm, violet brows arose in compliment to the curiosity in her tone.

“It’s not every day someone who’s in the middle of snooping around actually gives out a full disclosure of their intention, but well... My kitchen’s rat-free, in both literal and figurative senses, if that’s what you aim to ensure through this little investigation of yours. Or is there anything specific you’d rather see for yourself here, hm?”

Violet-stained lips remained in bloom from one ear to another after lowly mouthing her gratitude, tangles of amethyst bounced back and forth as the newly-assigned captain of the 12th nodded her head in dismissal upon the noble house’s maid’s offer to pour the tea and serve the snack for the mentor and her pupil’s break; taking the matter into her own hand as slender digits found their way to the pile of strawberry-colored daifuku and picking some to shove into the young man’s line of sight.

“Eat,” she wiggled the saucer pinched between manicured thumb and index finger; just about enough to draw his attention.

“That temper of yours... There’s a lot to work on there, but surely it can use a little bit of sweet treat. Don’t you think so, Bō-kuya-kun~?” Feminine chuckle broke out as the moniker rolled past her tongue—almost as if she had actually seen the boy’s impending reaction with her knowing pair of lavender gaze.
