hi @3van-3571 i hope you don't mind the ping but when i saw your art of stobotnik gaming at 3 am the dialogue immediately popped into my head and i wanted to write it down and so a ficlet was born
~*~*~*~
"This is a frankly atrocious standard of gameplay even for you, Stone."
Silence. Not even a hum of acknowledgement.
"Stone?"
He looked at him. He was asleep with his head against Robotnik's shoulder and his hands resting in his lap, still holding loosely onto his controller. He snorted.
"Up past your bedtime, hm?" he whispered.
Why was he whispering? He should shove the irritating barnacle off his shoulder and order him to bed before he ruined the game for him.
But.
Well.
He looked... Peaceful.
His arms were bared by his T-shirt and all the worry on his face was gone. He wasn't exactly used to seeing him like that. He wasn't used to seeing anyone like that. He enjoyed the trail of fearful underlings following him wherever he went, bitten and beaten into quiet submission. It was where they belonged. Stone fell into his place behind him just the same, but it never seemed to be out of actual fear. He knew the full extent of his capabilities and his weaponry. He just thought that Robotnik would never turn them against him.
The worst part was that he was right. The Badniks had exceptions for him in their code.
He hated how little he hated it.
Fine. When he woke up, he didn't need to know how long Robotnik had allowed him to sleep for. He didn't have to know he'd indulged him like this.
He definitely didn't need to know that Robotnik spent the rest of the level with his cheek resting against the top of Stone's head, soaking in the comforting warmth of his sleeping body.
I DONT MIND THE PING AT ALL THIS IS SO COOL, OML. YOU WROTE THEM SOSOSO CUTE <333 Im obsessed. Oh my goodness. This is epic.
