I didn’t think I’d get another chance to give you this, but hey, here we are! A rakhi is meant to represent the bond between siblings, a sister asking for her brother’s protection and praying for his well-being. More than your protection, what I’ll always ask for is your support - which I already have. Anything more than that is a blessing, which you are.
I love you Sammy; thank you for being you - being someone that was there for me unconditionally, even if you weren’t here in India. What matters is the here and now, and I know we’re there for each other till the end.

Samar had been typing furiously at his computer for a few hours, unable to string a few words together long enough to make a sentence. He was frustrated, that much was obvious. His choices suddenly became a lot more intimidating and he wondered if he could really last out here. Without his friends, his immediate family. Without knowing where to go and when to go. There was so much that he needed to get used to.
He pushed back his laptop and glanced over to the pile of envelopes sitting on top of his bed and he noticed a slightly thicker package slid inbetween the bills and junk mail. Reaching out reluctantly, he pulled it out, giving it a quick glance over before tearing it open. He first pulled out the letter and read it slowly, a few times over just to make sure he wasn’t missing anything.
Samar then pulled the beautiful red rakhi from the envelope it was enclosed in, inspecting it carefully. Back home his family never really carried out these kinds of traditions, probably because they were so caught up in their own lives they barely had time to think of such things. Somehow, the gesture had Samar’s heart swelling with emotion and just plain love for his sister. He held the rakhi up to the light and smiled slightly, suddenly feeling a lot less home sick. This was exactly where he was supposed to be right now.

He was being a little ambitious- going after a Singh. Which speaking of, how's your own baboon? TEXT: We always will- it's an unbreakable bond. TEXT: She's alright. A little annoying and catty at times but that's just because she's hot tempered just like all the women in our family. TEXT: I mean let's be honest, the only useful thing apart from inheritance that our parents have passed on is the eyes.

Just under a business instead of a specific name - your personalised card isn't ready yet unfortunately.] TEXT: [Better being the cause; at least you can walk away scot free, yes?] TEXT: [Besides that, I meant, with all of this. "Wow, who knew the Singh boy would be so dashing, have you met my daughter?" and etc.] TEXT: [Somehow I feel it's going to be quite the entertainment, what do you think?]
TEXT: That sounds terrifying. And very entertaining as I'll be responding with phrases such as, 'your daughter seems lovely, is she a virgin?' TEXT: Or, 'is she opposed to staying at home like a good traditional wife?' TEXT: OR 'Aunty your daughter is lovely but I'm finding myself more drawn to your son, is he single?'
TEXT: I'm going to assume this event is the Pink Party, I've got a bunch of styling requests for it so TEXT: How does in twenty minutes sound to you?
TEXT: Probably. I think she may have avoided the term 'Pink Party' because she knew it'd put me off.TEXT: No worries, I'll see you then gorgeous.

You’re Bunny’s family, and now you’re also a part of mine. No need to be grateful, she’s a bit of a crazy person who needs to be kept grounded. I’m still there for her to lean on, but as I said, you’re definitely welcome to do the same. Having her as the older sister is probably an experience for you, hence why I’m around.
How’s your first day on set been? Bunny told me you’re a journalist, with a gossip column already. Very impressive sir; you’re not going to find anything on me but if you want embarrassing stories off the record, I’m around.
Trust me, I never report on family. Unless they annoy me. But it’s usually stupid stuff like ‘doesn’t flush the toilet’.
It’s like a whole little family. I don’t think I’ll be homesick at all. I mean until i miss in-n-out.

That’s sweet. I mean it’s trippy, coming into her workplace and hearing people talk about her. I’m glad you’re all so lovely to her.
I was offered control of a gossip blog. A little pretentious I know. But it was a great opportunity.

Arreh bhai, you’re one of the few people I’ve been desperate to meet. You don’t know how grateful I am for how you’ve been there for her.
I mean, I was too young to really get what was going on when I was younger, you know? But she.. She’s been through way more than she deserves, and you’re, i feel, very high up on the list of people that she was able to lean on. Which is fantastic.
