do you want to know something?? I always wondered what the hell kind of hairstyle the Ancient Egyptians were trying to portray with depictions like these
and this
until I did my hair this morning andÂ
oh
welp
you can take the noses off our statues but until you find a way to take Egypt out of Africa weâre still going to find ourselves
Iâm reblogging this post without all the salty, racist commentary because Iâm sick of looking at it. please spread this around again in its pure form for posterity.
Whatâs funny is that white people thought they were hats/crowns đ
ESIUQRAM
Hereâs a really good post about this.
And hereâs some pictures of the Afar people, who still live on the horn of Africa today.
Cool, huh?
Beautiful
People thought it was Hats and Crowns? How could they not see hair?
The same reason archaeologists, upon finding a womanâs skeleton in the grave of a famous Roman gladiator, immediately wondered where the gladiatorâs skeleton was: Old Straight White Man⢠brand denial.
Same way they denied the Really Gay Egyptian Tomb, too. Itâs kind of a Thing.
This post is amazing, Iâm so glad it exists. I have learned.
These hairstyle all time favourites..
Phuchkaa to Sambhar Vadaa: I met my luv.
I was born and grown up with a thought, that i will go by parents, live for my family and die for my husband. Henceforth, the life was same as i thought till i stepped up and take a chance on my own will.
Born eating âNukkadwaala Phuchkaasâ(favourite street food at the end of the road)Â by the side of a heavy traffic lane of Delhi, while my father grab delicious Paan( its a delicacy in Eastern UP) from the other corner, I never thought that one day i will marry a guy who is born in South of India and above all a Love marriage.
I am married to him for almost 4 years now, and still it feels like as it happened yesterday.
I was working as a commissioning engineer deputed at a station in Bahrain, life was quite a usual statement for me there. Being a tomboyish, i have always enjoyed my job, i was only female ever in my team, as i like to travel my job gave me all that, i travelled to Western Europe spent a year there and later i was deputed on the commissioning work in Gulf. For almost one and half years spending in Bahrain, i was use to this small country and known it better way that i did for my own city Delhi. Fearlessly, one day when i was a also a on-call engineer ( Engineer available for 24/7) i received a call to reach a station which has to energise and i have to report there to witness the test. I rode in my chauffeur driven car and started to work. But this was not the usual day that god has decided for me, me and my driver were just a lane behind my office and we were stuck in traffic and we heard crackers sound, i thought that how come people are blowing crackers at noon time then i let go the thought and didnât react to it unless i saw lot of people are running on the sides of the car making there way,and cracker sounds seems like approaching me i turned around and terrified of what i saw, it was all black cats soldiers, all dressed up with arms and ammunitions and they were dragging people from the way and soon a big mob started to move here and there, and they were firing in air, most of the firing has tear gases. And there were no crackers. The locals were protesting against the King of Bahrain. For the first time i was watching all of this with my nude eyes it was not less than any movie scene to describe to, i got excited somehow but soon Me and my Indian driver were in horror when the soldiers started approaching all the cars and checking there papers, i didnât have my passport with me( it has gone for visa extension processing), âOh-no what i am going to do like this?â.
Soon, one soldier pierced his eyes into our car, all i could see a black head, i grabbed my Big CPU i was carrying for one of my substation, i was terrified by his looks only. He asked us to move on. Really, just like that ?? no questions asked we moved, for the first time in that year i heard people honking on the roads making there way too much traffic but moving. I called my Project Manager and told him i am leaving for my home.
Soon, i reached home i turned on my laptop and wrote an email to all my managers and big shots and also to my would be hubby. He was my Team Leader. He was the first to call me soon after reading my email, anyhow it was none of his business. I have met him once before, about six months back his base office is in Dubai and mine in Delhi. He came to review few of our projects which we were doing for Gulf. And, so he called me to check how i am and all thatâŚ.. i blabbered in excitement of what i saw and how i experienced. All i remember is he assured me that we will get you out of there.
When i met him first time, he was not a man to get impressed of by looks, i was already impressed of him because his attitude towards work and way he talks to us through all these telephonic conferences and all. We have been working like for two and half years. Honestly, i always thought he would be old guy as he take all the things quite slowly and well put-up. But, fortunately he is three years elder to me. Not big difference to talk about.
Soon, in Bahrain where i was all alone, he became the only charm of life. He was calling me every hour, if i am fine, am doing good? Any problem at sites? like a responsible guide to me, actually he was doing his job. But in my brain, something else for getting cooked, soon i get used to his calls, his concerns who also grown up to âwhat i ate?ââŚ. all late night talksâŚ.sometimes he use to say i will teach you Autoreclosure function, but we never discussed it till date. He started caring for me who no one does before except my parents. I liked this and the feeling that he is there for me. So i told him, i am falling for youâŚ. he thought i fall into the Earthing Test pit( a test done to check on the earthing support to the Electrical Substation). He shouted on me, but what to do, i had fallen for him.
This was my journey from Phuchkaas to Sambhar Vadaa.
I am married to South indian guy, who loves his food, is crazy about his mother and speaks Tamil, Malayalam, English and a very bad Hindi( i am working on his  Hindi).
