Every year brings new hope in just about every context of life. Many of us hope to accomplish personal and/or professional goals, and many others have larger hopes for society as a whole. Anyone who deals with traffic accidents regularly tends to hope that each year will bring about a new level of safety for drivers, passengers, bicyclists and pedestrians. In general, the statistics relating to Nevada traffic accidents have been trending downward, but 2014 is not off to a good start after yet another person was killed in a crash during the first few days of 2014. Specifically, a 27-year-old man was killed in a Las Vegas motorcycle accident that occurred on Monday morning at approximately 8:47 a.m. An article describing what happened can be found here. The man was reportedly moving in a southbound direction on Centennial Center Parkway when the driver of a pickup truck allegedly pulled out from a parking lot and collided with him. The man was critically injured and succumbed to those injuries later in the day. The driver of the truck and the passenger reportedly suffered minor injuries, and police are continuing to investigate the crash.
