Reblog if you are a fitblr who has had to start their journey over more than once
I want to show people who are new to this that it is okay to fail and that doesn’t define you.
So I had my practice fit test today. I passed the push/ pull exercise easily. However I failed on the bleep test by 6 bleeps. That's an extra 120m I need to be able to run by next week. I'm pretty confident I can do that. I didn't really eat very well either since I didn't realise we were doing the bleep test today. So I need to get back on my c25k! Thankfully I have a holiday next week so I have lots of time to train!
I adore baby bel. But I didn’t buy any for I cannot be trusted with them.
Finally felling better again and am eager to run! Very strange head cold / chest infection, my sense of taste has completely changed. Odd.
Looks like a Tesco. Am I right? :P
Okay so these past 5 days have been horrid! I've had so many treats due to the fact that my interview had been coming up and had completely stopped exercising so I could focus on interview technique.
I've just had my interview and it was the most stressful morning of my life.
The Email they sent me confirming my interview date and time, gave me the wrong postcode. I got to where the postcode told me to go at 11:00 and my interview was at 11:15. I kept looking and couldn't find it and at 11:10 I just thought "I've completely ballsed up here."
I called the Police Station and explained the problem and the woman on the phone sighed and said. "The exact same thing happened to me."
She gave me the correct address and I got there at 11:35 completely stressed and unorganised, not to mention LATE.
I sign in at reception and a woman comes to the room asking for me. I explain what happens and the woman laughs and says. "It's more than fine since we're running late ourselves!"
At that point I just exhale and give her a look of such gratitude.
She tells me "Do you need 5 minutes to get yourself together?"
I'm just like "You have no idea how much I need that right now."
The interview went as well as I think it could have gone, I was very happy with it. The conversation flowed nicely and we even had a few laughs, especially when the question,
"How do you deal with a stressful situation?"
Came up. They both just looked at each other and I gave them a sheepish look then they said.
"I think you've shown you can handle a stressful situation just fine!"
And went on to the next one.
Who knows what will happen now. It's been an adventure. I hope for the best but if I fail here it was meant to be. I'll try again next time.
Wish me luck!
I want to get to know you :-)
Reblog this and I’ll check out your blog and ask you a question.
I have discovered a love for Porridge (Oatmeal I think it's called in the US). I knew it was supposed to be a great healthy breakfast but I only got the courage to try it a few days ago because I thought I wouldn't like it. But no! It's so tasty and filling! I can hardly get through the serving size it recommends. A little dollop of honey and wow, I'm in breakfast heaven. I never really liked cereal or toast in the morning, and I don't have enough want to make myself eggs.
This sounds like good news for my diet, which has been a bit on and off recently. I'm working out at least 15 minutes a day and 30+ minutes on strength training days, so my body has become a lot leaner, but if I start getting my diet on track then I'm winning.
Also I get my running shoes this Saturday! So excited, gotta get some interview clothes too since the stuff I have doesn't fit anymore!
I've definitely been bitten by the healthy lifestyle bug.
The day that I run in a sports bra and spandex is the day that I have conquered all fears
Reblog if you are a fitblr who's still on their journey of losing weight and getting fit.
I want to follow more people who are on the same journey as me, so we can do this together!
Hello hi reblog if you want a new follower be a fitblr or health/fitness related blogs pls and ty
Upper Body Conditioning (Day 1)
So today marks the start of my upper body workouts. Gonna start out pretty simple and add in some moves as I progress. I worked close to fatigue on the first set and then did 2 more of the same reps. I'm not an expert so this is probably not the ideal, but it's better than doing nothing at all as long as I take care of form. For the plank, I set a timer and hold for as long as possible.
Chest Press: 3x17 12kg
Overhead Press: 3x8 12kg
Dumbbell Row: 3x17 12kg
Plank: 40 seconds.
Also did a sneaky set of 20 inner and outer leg lifts on each side. We shall see how I progress soon enough. Also, I'm not doing anymore couch 2 5k until I get my new shoes which should be soon.
Not going running today as I have had some major calf pain since yesterday's workout. I struggled badly at work and I don't want to do that again. honestly.
Also I have a practice fit test on the 4th Feb so I need to start doing some upper body exercises.
Also I've been paid now so I can finally buy some good food and get some proper supporting shoes.
C25K (Day 8) -Failure-
Oh wow. This is the first time I've actually failed a C25K run.
For one, I made the mistake of trying out a different route and this route ended up having some serious inclines.
For two, My nutrition has been really bad this past week. When I don't have money to buy food I really need to remember to take a multivitamin. Honestly I think the only thing we have in the house right now is pasta and rice.
How exactly did I fail? I did the first 1:30 run, did the first 3:00 run, did the second 1:30 run but only got through about 1:00 of the second 3:00 run and honestly I couldn't push myself any farther.
Not sure whether to try this day again or just accept it and move on.
We all have bad days right?
Either way I ran/walked 2.81 km/ 1.75 miles, which was farther than yesterday so can I really call it a loss?
Oh yeh, and I passed my exam yesterday! I have an interview in 2 weeks time now!
C25K (Day 7)
Well. I did it. It was hard, so very, very hard, but I did it.
I honestly ran completely out of energy in the last 20 seconds of the last 3 minute interval. I just pushed and pushed until I heard "Okay, walk!".
If I had the energy I would probably have jumped in the air to cheer.
2.58 km/1.6 miles in 28 min. Not too fussed about the distance on this one, since I'm just happy I got through it all without stopping. My body continues to surprise me.
Now I'm worried for Day 10, but I got through this one...!
Okay I admit I didn't go on my run yesterday because I'm terrified. I'm struggling to accept that I am able to run for 3 minutes straight when 2 weeks before I struggled to do 1 minute. I need to just pick myself up and run. If I fail. I'll keep trying until I can do it completely. Its just 4 intervals and I'll only be running 3 minutes twice.
It doesn't help that tomorrow is the day that decides my future for the whole year. If I pass this test i'm one step closer to my dream career. If I fail, I'm back to working minimum wage with no hope of advancing in the field I want to.
I guess both things have a simple answer. You'll only know what you can do when you do it. Its time to steel my resolve and show the world what I'm made of.
C25K (Day 6)
Owwwieee.
It hurt, but I got through it. Even though it seemed like more of a calf pain when I was running, I do think some proper shoes will help. We'll see how I feel over the course of next 2 days now. Very worried for day 7 now...
Walk/ran 2.93 km/ 1.82 miles which isn't bad considering I was hurting. I'm working a late tonight so I hope I'm alright by then. Might do some stretching before work and see if that helps.
Argh. My shins have been hurting since yesterday and I think its due to the fact that I have really flat feet and the shoes I'm using for running are 5 years old and cost me £20 at the time. They have no support at all. Unfortunately, I can't spend any money on better shoes until the end of the month now. I don't know whether to just keep running and hope for the best or try my hardest to budget in a pair of supportive shoes. Still gonna go on my run today regardless and try to tread lightly then see how I feel tomorrow.
