Victoria laughed softly at that one, sure, her mom was a princess in her own game but she didn’t know if that classified in Auardon. “Um, sort of? I just don’t know if they would call me one because my mom was kind of weird.” She admitted before looking over at him. “Woah really? That is awesome though. I always thought pirates seem so cool.”

“Your title is dependent on how weird your parent’s are? That’s shit.” Sammy grimaced, finding that to be one of the dumber facts about Auradon. “There are pros and cons to piracy. And I suppose you could question whether I am one here or not. Still working on being allowed to stay out of prison based on good behavior.”

Victoria frowned. “Really? That kind of sucks. I mean, it’s not like you could control your parents, right? You weren’t even thought of when they were terrorizing the Ak’s parents.”

“No, but that’s not what matters is it? Our parents are what define us. I’m sure you’re the gorgeous princess of some magical kingdom with hero parents, while I’m the first mate in a pirate crew with a so-called villain parent. We’ve all got our labels and there’s no escaping them even if we wanted to.”

“Why thank you. I know I am.” She winked playfully at him before nodding. “You guys really don’t trust us, huh?”

“You’re quite welcome.” Sammy just smirked back before laughing. “Why should we? We’ve been here for years and are still met with insults and fear just because of who fathered us.”

“No. Can’t a girl give a hot guy a compliment anymore? Jesus.”

“Believable ones, sure. But no AK is telling a VK with a straight face that they’re amazing.” Sammy quirked an eyebrow. “But thank you. You’re pretty hot yourself.”

”Listen, to them, you’re the most amazing, most incredible person they know. The least you can do is pretend you’re as amazing as they think you are. Even if you don’t think it.”

“Who gave you that garbage line? No one in existence thinks I’m an “amazing, incredible person.” Must be some look-alike AK you’re looking for.”

“Well, I don’t think you will kill them, but I won’t force you to pet him or anything. Just know, if you are rather curious about them, you can come here anytime.”

Sammy studied the woman warily, curious about the animals and wanting to interact but also not trusting any of the heroes to actually be nice. “Why are you so okay with me around your animals? I assure you you’re one of the first.”

“Mwhahaha. It’d go over so well.”

“Why? Oh, is it because they think you’ll steal them?”

“Because this is Auradon and I’m a VK. They think I’ll steal them, kill them, I don’t know.”

“That is truly awful. While you are here, you should get to know more of the animals. They aren’t scary at all.”

“Surprisingly people around here don’t want pirates around their pets. So I stick to watching from over here.’

“ we’ll make it an underground party. find someone with magic to charm the entrance. ” claire waved off the others’ concerns. “ the auradon kids would always break out in dance & have parties. they’d be hypocrites if they tried to ruin our fun. a party is better than world domination. ”

“Perfect. Lets do it. Though parties are usually where villains make their play for world domination. Soooo...I guess we’ll find out.”

“That’s understandable. Well, I can assure you that the horses around here are quite friendly. You just have to know how to handle them.”

“Takes me out of the running then. Not a lot of animals on the Isle that weren’t feral cats.”

“You want to pet him?” She asked.

“I’m alright. Can’t say I spend much time with animals.” Sammy might stop by the stables to see the beasts near every day, but that didn’t mean he interacted. He had other things to do than indulge a frivolous interest.

vk-harriet-hook‌:

Harriet was silent a moment at the thought of her siblings with her father wandering around. Shaking her head finally to get it out of her mind she started checking the colors of streamers available. “Mr. Smee deserves a nice retirement… not that I’d ever expect the Captain to have given him any retirement benefit past what your dad could put aside himself. Though I’d imagine seventeenth century doubloons are worth a lot now a days. The Neverland layover should be good for something at least.”

Sighing she looked at her pad, then the stock. “…how do we run out of blue streamers? Honestly? What, did Chad Charming eat them or something?”

“He’s gonna be okay.” Admittedly it was because any earnings Sammy had for himself he’d used on or given to his dad for him and the little ones. And that he would do the same with anything else he earned, but he just shrugged. “He worked with Hook enough to learn how to fend for himself a bit. And maybe.” He laughed a bit before nodding, hoping she was right though doubting she was.

“Probably. Sounds like him.”

Sometimes Hook found it difficult to believe that this tough and disciplined boy was the son of his bumbling first mate. Unlike his father Sammy was always up for a training session, and never whined about his teaching methods. Still Smee was the closest thing to a best friend Hook had, plus was the only crew member who had constantly stuck by him over the years, and was probably the only person on his ship he hadn’t threatened with death.

“You’ve grown into a true pirate my boy. Still doesn’t mean that there isn’t room for improvement.” That was Hook’s mantra really, the only person he didn’t feel needed any improvement was himself. “We can start up training again soon though.” It wasn’t an offer to the kid, it was a demand. “It was fine on the Isle. You know me, my boy, if there’s trouble being caused then I’m in the middle of it.”

“Thank you sir. And of course, there’s always room for improvement.” Sammy agreed with the mantra wholeheartedly, determined to always be better in ever area of his life. He also knew Hook’s statement wasn’t a request, and he nodded. “Of course Hook. Gladly. Whenever Harriet doesn’t need me I’d love to.” He would make sure he gave the time to Hook as was needed, knowing that might take time away from him visiting his father and brothers. The elder Smee would understand though.

“That’s fair. You’re always up for a fight.” Sammy laughed, crossing his arms and smiling at the other man. “And now that you’re here? Any plans?”

Seeing another figure lurking around the bridge was enough to awaken his curiosity. As he got even closer, Hook was almost happy to see that it was the Smee kid. Happiness wasn’t exactly an emotion that the pirate often felt, but Sammy was the only one of the kids who seemed to not only respect him, but was what he wanted from his own family.

“Sammy, my boy, it feels like a lifetime since you were last on my ship, you’ve grown a lot since I last saw you.” In a way, he was the closest Hook felt he had to a son, and he was sure that his other boy knew it. Maybe he gave Sammy the attention in an attempt to kick Harry into shape, but god knows it wasn’t working. “Tell me what you’ve been up to then.”

Sammy’s own relationship with the pirate wasn’t nearly as fraught with hurt as Hook’s children, mostly because he didn’t look to the man for love or any sort of affection. He was a hard teacher and a leader, and the younger pirate had learned a lot from him. His own father had given him the love and affection he needed, though he did understand Harriet and the rests anxiousness about their father’s arrival.

“It has been awhile, and thanks. Glad I didn’t stay a runt forever.” Sammy grinned a bit before shrugging. “Working as Harriet’s first mate. We’ve all been keeping trained and ready, working for a ship of our own. Causing havoc when we can but not too often. The Isle hasn’t really been anywhere any of us wanted to return after all. How’ve you been Captain? I’m sure it was rough over there with mostly only the original Villains left.”

“ how about we start the party ? get everyone together, i’ll supply the ice cream ! ” claire smiled brightly at the other. “ it’ll be a villainous time, sammy ! ”

“I somehow think the guards would ruin the fun, since the AK’s are likely to get anxious if we start having Isle parties with better food. Villains all in one place, oohh. But it’d be entertaining.’
