“Sleep is a luxury at Hellgate. It’s a danger. But when I slept, I dreamed of you.”
Her head snapped up.
“That’s right,” he said. “Every time I closed my eyes.”
“What happened in the dreams?” she asked, eager for an answer, but fearing it, too.
“Horrible things. The worst kinds of torture. You drowned me slowly. You burned my heart from my chest. You blinded me.”
“I was a monster.”
“A monster, a maiden, a sylph of the ice. You kissed me, whispered stories in my ear. You sang to me and held me as I slept. Your laugh chased me into waking.”
“You always hated my laugh.”
“I loved your laugh, Nina. And your fierce warrior’s heart. I might have loved you, too.”
Might have. Once. Before she had betrayed him. Those words carved an ache into her chest.
She knew she shouldn’t speak, but she couldn’t help herself. “And what did you do, Matthias? What did you do to me in your dreams?”
The ship listed gently. The lanterns swayed. His eyes were blue fire. “Everything,” he said, as he turned to go. “Everything.”

Okay, I know I said I would be posting about my whole /all of the sudden/ cruise trip around asia while I was still within the midst of it..but alas, the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas staff were quite keen on keeping everyone off the internet. So laisse faire, here’s just a summarized snippet of my whole experience while on the ship.
Okay so I guess it was *deep breath* love at first sight. When our bus had just pulled over the port at Singapore, my eyes were just fixed on the ship, even when we were busy getting through the immigration office..I couldnt allow myself to not take in the whole sight of what I was about to get myself into!
The Mariner of the Seas is a huge ship, fifteen decks in total. And that includes a royal promanade (with an A-list mall btw, in case you were wondering,) an ice skating rink, a broadway theatre, a three stories high & themed fine dinning room, a basketball court, a wall for wall-climbing, and a golf course. Not to mention the pools, out door movie screen, windjammer food court, screening room and my favorite Casino Royale, plus other exclusive café’s, rooms, arcades (for us young souls) and shops. I just really cant name them all.
Everything, from the accommodation, to the staff of the ship was beyond perfect. The pricey bill of getting on the ship is beyond worth it, because the moment you get on board, you cant stop enjoying yourself. I mean come on, an international food court serving you hundreds and I MEAN HUNDREDS of food from all around the world and it’s all complementary. Imagine piling your plates up like a miniature Mt. Everest of bacon, pasta, sushi, bread, fries, and chicken wings for breakfast, and coming back for a bowl of ice cream or strawberry tarts, maybe fill yourself up with the fresh assortment of fruits they have. All that at 24/7 without having to spend a single dime. And that’s just the Windjammer food court. You still have a fine dinning room, that’s themed, serving you meals from starters to dessert to your round of 2nd’s and 3rd’s and really, you’d probably just stop eating when you get way bloated and have no more room for more food.
The entertainment was extremely good. Everynight there’s a show in the broadway theatre, and the ice skating ring, plus, you can play whatever sport you want in the sports den. Or maybe you can shop till you drop on the royal Promenade mall and get yourself a satchel from coach or a handbag from Michael Kors since every night there’s an exclusive SALE on all items, from jewelry to cosmetics, all you need is to get your seapass card on the ready, and maybe an armor to protect yourself from the raging shoppers on board. Literally, a stampede everytime a shop opens. Lmaooo.
And how can you not relax when there are free massages all day round. You can go for a dip in the hot tub then go off to the nearest bar and get yourself a cocktail before deciding to get changed for a night out in their exclusive dance clubs. I MEAN COME OOOOON. But if you’re not up for that kind of night life, you can go ahead and get yourself indulged in a book at their library, you can even take one and bring it to your stateroom, or even at the spa. But really, who wouldnt? You can maybe stay by the poolside too, because every night there’s an exclusive screening of new movies so you can just make yourself a hot cup of royal roast, that’s their complementary coffee that you can make at literally every corner of the ship that you can find, coffee lovers will have too much heart palpitations tbh. But they can work it all off in the gym, that has every single body-building machine, plus, you have your own trainer if you get in. That’s free too!!
There’s probably more, but I couldnt get myself to tell you all about it because gosh, it would be a whole book by then. But if anything, take it from someone who’s been travelling since she could even talk (thanks dad) cruising is the kind of travelling you’d get once you’ve probably just seen everything. It’s for people who want to travel without having to speed up their time (and for goddamn millionaires, wtf) I’m just lucky I got to experience it again. Hopefully, it wouldnt be my last.
I highly recommend your next travels to be on a cruise, especially one from the Royal Caribbean. See you soon for my take on Singapore! ✨ Pip pip!

My Little Paris (by Carrie WishWishWish)
Miss Elizabeth. I have struggled in vain and I can bear it no longer. These past months have been a torment. I came to Rosings with the single object of seeing you… I had to see you. I have fought against my better judgment, my family’s expectations, the inferiority of your birth by rank and circumstance. All these things I am willing to put aside and ask you to end my agony. I don’t understand. I love you. Most ardently.
