We were both young
their dynamic was an interesting one.
sammy knew that for awhile.
on the outside, sammy was the one who relied on wes, the former being clumsy and so naive towards any ill intent.
the later was assertive and at times a bit aggressive.
like their father, he had a silent yet reliable aura around him, sammy envied him during their youth.
he was well aware of the fact he was the baggage that wes had to carry around.
wes was always the one, to wait for his younger brother to catch up, and in their little world, allowed sammy to go a little slower than the rest.
staying behind to keep the younger company in their little world.
but that changed, as they grew older, sammy began to grow more aware of emotions and how important they were.
sammy began to reach out to more people, to smile at his classmates, and soon enough their little world was getting bigger.
sammy didn’t realize that his brother was staying in their little world. that sammy was the only one willing to expand it.
wes was always too stubborn.
so even if his brother told him, that it was fine to leave him on the sidelines, sammy knew better.
so sammy did what he did best.
calling out to his brother with a childish grin, his hand reaching out of the older’s, gripping onto him.
“gege, come play with me.”
sometimes their little world was much more comfortable than the bigger one, his brother was his other half, and sammy was willing to stay in it until his older brother was ready to leave it.
it was his time to be patient, and to wait.
