Unpopular Opinion: Souji is overrated.

YES!

On one hand, I understand why he’s the most popular route and most of my closest friends are Souji fans. But on the other hand, I’m tired of all this “oh my precious baby okita”.

Plus, he really crosses the line a lot with his behavior, especially towards Chizuru and Hijikata. Like, it is NOT CUTE watching a grown man threaten to kill a young woman, steal others’ property, and blame literally EVERYTHING on Hijikata. With all the rules he’s broken, he should have committed seppuku a thousand times by now but he always gets away with it.

Souji is a fascinating character but most of his fans reduce him to this mischevious kitten when his character is so much more complex and darker than that.

People complain that Hijikata as the canon route is shoved down people’s throats but I can’t take a single step in the fandom without someone shoving Souji down my throat.
