When Abd al-Rahman ibn Muljam struck the fatal blow at Imam Ali’s forehead with such deadly force that it split open. Imam Ali (ع) exclaimed:
- " By the Lord of the Kaaba, I am successful! "
On his deathbed Imam Ali (a) told his companions, “Do not take revenge. Do not retaliate as this would be a favour to Muawiyah and not in line with truth and justice.”
Look at who Ali (a) was. He was not one to hold grudges even against his own murderer.
Once they captured Ibn Muljam, they brought him to Ali (a). The Imam, weak and frail on his deathbed simply asks, “Why? Was I a bad Imam to you?”

You will meet many types of people in your life. You will meet delicate flowers, raging oceans, quiet forests, towering mountains, and colourful skies. You will meet thunderstorms, you will meet lightning. They will knock you down, they will leave you breathless. You will meet sunrises, you will meet gardens. They will give you light, they will take you on adventures. Explore them. Get lost with them. They all have something to teach you.

Indeed, there has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves, he grieves for your suffering and is anxious about you, and He is gentle and merciful to the believers. — Quran (9:128)

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the standard ˹to distinguish between right and wrong.
So whoever is present this month, let them fast. But whoever is ill or on a journey, then ˹let them fast˺ an equal number of days after Ramadan.
Allah intends ease for you, not hardship, so that you may complete the prescribed period and proclaim the greatness of Allah for guiding you, and perhaps you will be grateful.
— Quran, 2:185 🕊
“Come here so I can see you better.”

“I knew depression was real, and in many cases required medical attention. I also knew we overused the word. Much of what we called "depression" was really dissatisfaction, a result of setting a bar impossibly high or expecting treasures we weren't willing to work for. I knew people whose unbearable source of misery was their weight, their baldness, their lack of advancement in a workplace, or their inability to find the perfect mate, even if they themselves did not behave like one. To those people, unhappiness was a condition, an intolerable state of affairs. If pills could help, pills were taken. But pills were not going to change the fundamental problem in the construction. Wanting what you can’t have. Looking for self-worth in the mirror. Layering work on top of work and still wondering why you weren’t satisfied.”
