I was going to make a JesseFamilyAU, where Jesse are two and Rueben is a child
I've cooled on that idea now, but why not share my thoughts here?
The two Jesses are blood twins. Female Jesse dated Aiden for a while, and they had a very loud and unpleasant breakup. Aiden's fault, of course. After the breakup, F_Jesse found out she was pregnant and didn't tell anyone (except Male Jesse) who Reuben's father was
Despite his attempts to become a father figure to Ruben, M_Jesse couldn't become anything more than an uncle. Ruben himself stubbornly considers Axel his dad, as he's always there and, unlike M_Jesse, fun to be around
The unofficial leader of the team - M_Jesse, is the calmest and most friendly of the group, preferring the quiet life on the farm to dangerous journeys. His weapon is a hoe. When told it's not actually a weapon, he replies, "That's what those who haven't been hit in the eye with a hoe say"
F_Jesse is the team's main fighting force; she trains with dummies and a wooden sword. She's much tougher than M_Jesse and isn't above punching those who offend her
At the end of episode 5, they craft 2 enchanted weapons: a hoe and a shovel
Reuben-a-child dreams of becoming a warrior hero, but is too small to hold a sword. He is 9 years old at the time of the episode 1. He also sneaks into the Storm against Jesse's word, helps them kill it, and dies in Jesse's arms
Because there are two Jesses, they can make two choices at once: simultaneously go to warn Gabriel and rescue Lucas from the basement, pull Gabriel and Petra down at once, split into teams to go after Ellegaard and Magnus in the second episode, and so on
But, of course, everything comes at a price: in the episode 3, the two Jesses take the armour from both Ellegaard and Magnus, and they die from a tentacle strike
And yes, this AU makes the presumed age of the new Order of the Stone in the episode 1 much higher than the age of majority — 26-30 y. o. in 1-4 episodes, 29-33 y. o. in 5-8. Considering that 10 years have passed between Seasons 1 and 2 in this AU, Jesses won't meet Stella and Romeo until they's 39-43 y. o.
By the way, in this AU, Luna is Stella's daughter, aged 8-11, and Radar is her runaway teenage son 17-19 y.o.
At the end of Season 2, F_Jesse runs away with Petra to oversee Romeo's redemption, and Lucas goes with them to witness it and write it down in a book. M_Jesse unites the city with Stella's city, they become a couple, and Radar is thrilled that the legendary Jesse is now his stepfather. The End
