i do host a ton of people - it’s always like a four hour dinner. it goes on and on. everybody used to gather at my mother’s house, so I’ve continued on the tradition - even though my sister’s the better cook. It’s a lot. I’m still recovering. How was your new year?

A four hour dinner?  I do not think my family can sit around the table for that long without watching some sort of sporting event or getting into a fight which is settled before we leave for the day or night.  My New Years was one I would like to forget for all the wrong reasons.  Anything planned for 2023 in your life?

see, but that's the fun of the holiday dinner. there's no thrill in it until somebody starts some kind of incident. usually the kids are the ones fighting and we're all just there to make sure nobody's killing each other. oh boy. at least you got it out of the way - it doesn't count if it happened on new years. you get a blank slate. i've got nothing going on at the moment - i've been taking a break from work so i'm just laying low at home with the kids. are you making big plans for this year to counteract the terrible experience you had ringing it in?

wow, that’s incredible - that’s such a hard thing to do. people will find any reason to tear something down, so to have maintained steady positivity is something really special.

oh, i have absolutely no idea. i’m going to wait for something to really grab me and then i’ll dive in. i don’t want to jump right into the first thing i read just for the sake of having a job, you know? because i’ve done that, and that can end you up in a bad place.

that is a terrifying thought. i’m sure you are a force to be reckoned with. i agree one hundred percent. i know people can get very particular about certain things. that’s understandable. that’s how i’ve picked my last couple of projects. i never want to take something for the sake of having work. plus i think i’ve done enough work lately to last me a lifetime.

you'd better believe it! fungal zombies have nothing on sandy after a zombie nightmare. especially with the internet nowadays, it seems like it's impossible to please everybody. i think i used to get caught up in the working actor's mindset of needing to have a job even when i wasn't starving for work anymore, and then on top of that i didn't know when to step out of a project if i felt the script wasn't being developed properly. so that culminated in a lot of work i wasn't happy with. it's better to be patient and wait for the right thing to come to you. how are you feeling? the burnout when you take jobs back to back like that can be brutal.

i’m exactly the same way. i’ve always had such a hard time putting the brakes on, so i’ve just gone from working on one thing to the next. last year it finally caught up to me and i felt so burnt out that it just wouldn’t have done me any good to be in front of a camera. so as hard as it is, the break will help you in the long run, i promise! i’m happy to offer knitting lessons. i know a thing or two.

high five for that one! not the best thing but i never thought i’d end up having something in common with sandra bullock. you do, i am totally going to take you up on that offer cause i’ve been trying with youtube tutorials and it just isnt working.
