Laura was rescued from a factory farm, where her precious inner world would have been destroyed, forced to give birth to litter after litter of babies and at the end, when her body was worn out, they would have sent her to the slaughterhouse. . Her life and death would have been just a number in a bank, in the list of murdered animals, in the national census of livestock. But because of the work of organizations that defend animals, she managed to get out of that dark place and know the beautiful side of humanity: people that are willing to do little and big things to help those who are suffering, regardless of their race, gender, color, if they have feathers or hair, or if they are from different species. . When Laura arrived at the sanctuary, we made our greatest effort to make her story known, so that the majority of people could know her wonderful personality, her beautiful inner world, the way she behaves, the things she likes and how she shows her emotional world. . There are still people who believe that pigs are dirty, dumb, ugly and despicable animals, but those ideas couldn’t be further away from reality, and Laura took care of that, breaking all those prejudices and opening those hearts. . I have never seen Andrés as sad as in the moment I met him. He was in a shed with three dogs he was afraid of.
