The Hardcore-onicals || Part 2 || P.O.V. - Bahaunny
The year was irrelant... the place, the Land of Critters and Colors.
Rej frowned, The Land of Critters and Colors?
Yes, the place your house has landed, the place you've been in for the past three days, and the place where you have always been destined to come to and conquer.
The troll girl opened her mouth to speak, and was ultimately silenced by a wave of the hand of the awesome and powerful, and truly large and great (for his species) narrator. And, because he was some awesome and powerful, he was not killed by her, but only glared at. It was truly impressive on his part.
The Land of Critters and Colors was once peaceful. The rainbow hill served not as a battlefield, but as a playground. The lakes served not as as place to drown your enemies, but a place to swim and drink. Reproduction was based off of love, and not the need for additional soldiers. Our children were raised to respect one another, they were taught kindness instead of war and hatred. That was, until the dreams began.
"The dreams?" The narrator rolled his humble and yet fierce and beautiful eyes at her. He shushed her, and then apologized when she growled at him.
Yes, the dreams. After generations of peaceful bunny slumber, the nightmares came. No one knows what caused them, no one knows why they came. But still, they did, and this effected some more harshly than others. At first, everyone was just confused. No one understood the messages of their dreams. But after a while, sleep deprivation set in, and the messages took their toll. Two brothers, the strongest and biggest of us all, and heirs to our royal bloodline---
The idiot troll girl stifled a giggle. And by stifle a giggle, I mean she snorted. Guffawed. Chortled disgustingly. Like an idiot troll girl. "HOMOPHONES..."
Yes, yes. I'm well aware of the pun.
"THE BUN-PUN-BUN." She laughed again. I sneered. Gritted my handsome teeth. She eventually quieted down and I was able to continue my fascinating story.
The heirs to the royal bloodline, two twins, with an already expansive but usually friendly rivalry, began to downright despise eachother. They began plotting an outright war against eachother after several unsuccessful assassination attempts. The other rabbits, all fiercly at odds with one eachother anyway, all picked a side. Soon, even the bunnies without political ties were fighting one another. The heirs could barely control their parties. But I don't think they wanted to... their dreams gave them the desire for destruction, just like they gave all of us the desire for destruction... but within their powerful hands... it meant something else entirely. Generations came and went. The heirs had heirs, even bigger than themselves, seeming to breed themselves into a master race, and the war raged on, even amongst commoners, women, and children. You see how it is, just outside your window. But still, there is hope.
"Hope?" Rej asked, clearing thinking to herself that she was a rage player and not one of hope.
The hope isn't you, of course, big head. It comes in the form of a commoner, a small runtling some generations ago. He was too weak for the battlefield, and the dreams, though they affected him, instead of making him angry... made him sad. Even weaker. Perhaps you understand that?
The young troll girl looked away. The humble narrator continued his story.
As he grew older, his sadness overtook him, until the day... The day his Mother was taken from him. He was not able to protect her. She was dragged to the battlefield, as she was far past reproductive age, and he couldn't stop them.
This humble narrator wiped a way a tear with his beautiful paws.
He knew he could never fight in the battle field, so instead, he became a savant. He started teaching others to control their dreams. To stop fighting. But alas, only few in his lifetime were able to learn from him. Years past, and his teachings were lost to the world, as each of his followers past on. But then...
The hero's eyes widened, and the narrator smirked with pride.
The rebel prince came along. The son of a general in one of the Rabbit armies, he found the last follower of the commoner runtling in a ditch, broken and injured. He nursed him back to health, something unheard of even in today's current climate, in secret. And his gentle, noble mind was able to learn the ways of the runtling commoner. He brought his ideas to his Father, knowing that he would not be blessed, but hoping they could all see the error of their ways. When his Father tried to kill him...
The troll gasped.
The last follower leaped in front of his sword, and was killed instead. In a fit of rage, The rebel prince killed his own Father. The only man the rebel prince ever killed was his own Father... Sad, but true. Overcome by grief, the rebel prince set out into the darkest reaches of The Lovely Forrest, where he met a group of travelers. These travelers became his first disciples. Soon, other refugees in the forrest came to him. They bred in private, their lifespans becoming longer. More flocked to them, but not enough. The rebel prince died... but he left with him a heir as well. And his dying words... "Find the hero. She is not one of us, but she is strong. She will part The Bunnies and The Rabbits and make a new tribe. A tribe for all of us as one."
The hero's eyes flitted around the room.
That hero is you. We are to return to The Lovely Forrest, meet the Rebel Prince's Heir, and develop a strategy to enter the war, save everyone, and bring peace to the Land of Colors and Critters.
"OH IS THAT ALL?"
