Im not listening to people who act like this app is produced by a few guys in their basement who need a small loan of a million dollars to survive not getting traffic from both of those countries. These are not tumblr specific policies. Tumblr is implementing age verification in response to legislative moves that were made months ago.

Tumblr is a failing social media site that has escaped death multiple times already; they do not have the social cachet to defy state regulatory agencies. We know they won't say no to Apple, either--the porn ban on tumblr was in response to Apple's crackdown on explicit content.

If you did not know this was happening, you were behind the curve. That is fine. You're caught up now. The next step is to link up with people in your country who are working to preserve privacy, to roll back these laws where they exist, and to prevent their passage where they do not. In the US the organization you want is Stop KOSA--in the EU you can start with Fight Chat Control.

Repealing ID verification and blocking chat control will help everyone, especially the most vulnerable. We can push this back, but we cannot get it done through the Feedback form. We have to get it done at the legislative level and lock it down so it cannot be forced upon us. I see lots of anger out there. Good. Put it to use.

If you are in the UK or Brazil, to get around any age verification bullshit, download Proton VPN (the best free one) or any vpn of your choosing (I think the latest Firefox update has a pretty good one). Then log out and log back in.

If you live in a household with restrictions on the WiFi that prevent you searching for the vpn, all it takes is one café, pub, library, or friend's house with free WiFi, and you'll pull it off. VPNs do not take that long to download.

This should be taken as a prime example of how misleading these titles are. The text contradicts the name. When will people realize this?

As far as I have researched, it has only been introduced, and it is at the beginning stages. There are no hearings/votes yet as far as I am seeing. It was introduced on April 13, 2026.

Please. PLEASE. CALL YOUR CONGRESS PEOPLE. INCLUDING REPUBLICANS. ESPECIALLY REPUBLICANS. Kosa passed by half the votes and is going to the house, mostly democrats voting NO, while most Republicans voted YES. We are so CLOSE to getting them to stop this, the calls are working but we need more people on this and putting pressure on their republican representatives. Even one or two calls WILL make a difference.

This will outright put id age verification in law, from apple, to samsung, to linux, every operating system you own will legally need to have have it no matter what. Call your representatives against this act aswell.

They will NOT delete the data either. It will be kept and sent to third party app developers. Which means any developer of any app will be able to see your id, personal information, and anything else it requires. Your data and life will be sold on the internet. Call NOW.
