Changing the ampersand to the hedera

Hear me out, imo the ampersand has been appropriated by the Endo community, so I propose the hedera

The hedera is an archaic form of punctuation used in Greek, Roman and some medieval and renaissance texts to signal a paragraph break. It resembles a floral heart, or an ivy leaf. It might be the poet in me, but I think others will like it

I chose the hedera because it feels like systemhood is a page or paragraph break, you’ve gone from intense trauma, paused, developed into a system and yet continued in a new time, place, topic and person (the four reasons you change paragraphs whilst writing) This is also representative of dissociation, paragraphs don’t have to correlate exactly to eachother but when put together they tell a story

Part of the reason I chose this over the ampersand is because the ampersand, to me, feels as if it heavily supports core theory. Where there is an “original” you… and other parts, whereas the hedera doesn’t assume anything about the system, other than surviving trauma (as you… need this to be a system. So this isn’t for endogenic systems). I also think it’s more discrete

A lil bit about me

Yes, I’m named after the poet, I absolutely adore her she’s one of my muses

I’m autistic and disabled, I use a wheelchair, crutches and canes to move around. I consider myself cripplepunk and goth

I’m a witch and a pagan! Might post a little about that here if people want, I write guides on different things that interest me and in the circles I’m apart of I’m seen as rather wise on matters of Hellenism, infernal worship and general witchcraft. I don’t prescribe myself to a specific belief system, rather I am an omnist and worship whoever feels right in the moment. This means I practice

- Helpol

- Theistic satanism

- Roman polytheism

- Kemetic paganism (still researching)

- Norse paganism (still researching)

- Celtic paganism (heritage)

- Saints and angels (still researching)

I also practice tarot, osteomancy, oracle and rune reading. I’ve made my own rune set using scrabble tiles! I don’t prescribe myself a label like “death witch” or whatever as I find it again unhelpful to confine myself, I am simply a witch. Or more aptly I call myself a mage as witch feels too gendered.

- I have a special interest in vampires, classical history (studied it for six years so I can answer almost any historical question you have regarding the religion/culture of Ancient Greece and Rome), historical medicine, funeral customs and queer history, and the Victorians
