“Blinky” is a short horror movie about a good robot that turns evil.
“Blinky” is a short horror movie about a good robot that is bought for a naive child who thinks that a robot will fix all his family issues. When he is disappointed by the fact that an advertisement has lied to him, he orders Blinky to carry out several conflicting orders while also unloading his emotional baggage onto a robot incapable of telling the difference between orders and statements spoken out of emotional issues.
When Blinky glitches up because his owner’s parents were about as thorough with teaching him how to treat his robot properly as they were about resolving their marital issues properly without emotionally damaging their child, he has to be rebooted.
The orders he was previously given before he malfunction remain in his databank, and he carries them out flawlessly.

i feel so bad for blinky. i’d love to have my own blinky, and i wouldn’t treat him like a servant. he’d be a good friend to me, but only if he wants to. oh blinky…i feel so bad for him, i wanna cry and hold him
