How do you think the boys would react if the reader doesn't want kids? Since my main is zayne, I am specifically curious Abt him cause it is such a big insecurity of mine đđ
I think the overall consensus would be that none of them would force you to have children and it really wouldn't be a deal breaker for them.
Xavier wouldn't mind at all, more of you for him, he doesn't have to share. He can sleep in for as long as he wants, no middle of the night wake ups, and no little body wiggling between you and him when fast asleep. He for sure wouldn't be sad if you said you didn't want kids.
Zayne is slightly relieved. He's a doctor after all, he knows how strenuous pregnancy is on the body. If we wanna look a this from the perspective of having an aether core in your heart? He's secretly been panicking thinking you want children and he hasn't done nearly enough research on how pregnancy would affect you and your heart condition. But, overall, he's totally okay with not having kids.
Rafayel couldn't care either way. Kids or no kids, whatever you want is fine with him. He's never really put a ton of thought into either. He more so goes with whatever you want and that's enough for him. He wouldn't mind growing old with you, just the two of you spending the rest of your days with each other and no one else. He gets enough of a kid fix when sketching in public and kids run up to watch.
Sylus is totally okay with no kids considering he already has the twins. The idea of you carrying his baby worries him honestly, because he knows most morons wouldn't dare lay a hand on you unless they want to meet death himself. But, that doesn't mean there isn't an odd duck that would try anyways, if you were pregnant? Even bigger target, even more room for concern.
Caleb is in a similar boat as Xavier. No one to share you with sounds fantastic to him. Being able to do whatever you want when you want to do it, being able to have you anywhere he wants with no little eyes scarred for life? Just the two of you until your dying days? He's happy with that, truly he could never want for anything more.
This is all coming from someone who adores children btw, I can totally see both sides and truly think that the boys would not be upset with you for not wanting kids. They're a lot of work!! - Soul
thinking about how youâre trying to keep your relationship with sylus lowkey, a well kept secret for both his and your safety. but of course his annoying ass canât be normal about it
you and sylus have been keeping your whole thing under wraps from your hunter colleagues. tara, bless her and her supportive nature, but youâd never know peace again if she were to find out, jenna might have your boyfriend killed if she found out, and xavier might just actually have a meltdown. itâs supposed to be simple: no pda, no suspicious texts, no showing up at hq looking freshly wrecked. but sylus? oh this man is a little shit on purpose. he thrives on stressing you out.
like that one time youâre in a team meeting, phone on the table, and suddenly it buzzes with a text from âcrow manâ (subtle enough): âkitten, remember to bend at the knees when you pick up files today. wouldnât want to flash your colleagues that mark i left last nightâ. you choke on your spit, coughing violently, face turning red as everyone stares, and you mumble something about seasonal sickness while cursing him out in your head.
or when he âaccidentallyâ sends flowers to your deskâmassive red roses with a card that says âthinking of you in that tight uniformâ but signed anonymously. tara squeals about your âsecret admirerâ and simone is concerned about the âcreepyâ nature of the message and youâre sweating bullets trying to play it off like âoh idk must be a prankâ while sylus is probably having the time of his life in his penthouse watching through mephistoâs eyes.
and donât get me started on the time he shows up âunannouncedâ at a group lunch, pretending to be a âbusiness associateâ dropping off âimportant documentsâ. he leans in way too close handing you the envelope (which is empty except for a note saying âmissed you. come over tonight or iâll make a sceneâ), brushes his fingers against yours, and gives you that crimson-eyed wink before sauntering off like he owns the place. your colleagues are whispering âwhoâs that hot guy?â and youâre just sitting there internally screaming while trying to act normal.
he loves pushing your buttons, watching you squirm, knowing youâll chew him out later⊠which always ends with you in his lap anyway. little shit knows exactly what heâs doing.
[omegaverse, alpha xavier, mutual pining, UST, a/b/o typical sexism, nesting, dubcon, canon divergence, reader is MC, xavier threatens to kill a man, the sexiest thing a man can do is yearn]
He wants you, you want him. Seems like the only thing standing in the way is your self respect.
Luckily heâs shameless enough for the both of you.
Heâs well behaved with you. Mostly.
As a dominant alpha that manifested at a prodigious age, Xavierâs had a lifetime to learn to keep his baser instincts in check. After years of etiquette lessons and pheromone exposure therapy, he has a better handle on himself than even most betas.Â
At the time, it all felt like overkill. Now heâs grateful for his ironclad self control.
Because you donât like alphas.
If he didnât know you so well, it would be hard to spot. A subtle hitch of your shoulders, eyes marking the closet exit. He never broaches the subject with you. A little wariness around alphas isnât necessarily unhealthy, especially the ones as big and mean as the other hunters. He just puts his body between you and whoeverâs making you nervous, makes sure heâs always within armâs reach in any crowded room, and savors the fact that no one can ever really get close enough to hit on you.Â
Despite his urge to smother you in his scent, he keeps his pheromones stifled. He tempers all the snarling aggression, the violent possessiveness. He doesnât grab or pull, he doesnât make demands.Â
And you reward him with a peace unlike any heâs ever known.Â
His feelings for you are a softer revelation than all those stories of fated mates heâs heard, more knowing than instinct. Youâre his best friend, his partner, his sun and moon and stars. It doesnât matter if youâre a beta. He doesnât need divine intervention â he can love you enough of his own free will.
If only you would let him.Â
Sometimes he thinks youâre just shy, waiting for him to take the lead.
He flirts relentlessly, dropping hint after hint. A hand against your lower back, a compliment about your lips. You bask in the attention, but never ask for more.Â
It makes him antsy. Unwilling to push you, but so desperate for your affection.Â
Everytime you come over to his place, he feels lightheaded with the possibilities, the opportunities. He could have kissed you in the kitchen, or when you passed by him in the hall. On the couch, in the bathroom. Heâd bought a new bed just weeks ago, vague notions of you and him tangled in the sheets clouding him. He wonders how it would feel to wake up to you there.Â
He knows life with you would be so natural, sweet. Even now, curled up on the couch watching some silly romcom, the pair of you navigate the evening like youâve known each other forever forever. An awareness and ease that runs bone deep. No one talks over anyone, and no one misunderstands. You like the apartment the same temperature, the lights the same brightness. You place your feet in Xavierâs lap and he thumbs the delicate skin of your ankle, and the both of you sink deeper into the cushions, ever so slightly more relaxed by the contact.Â
Your visit winds to an end, and you hesitate at the door. You fish for something to say, another topic of conversation to prolong the night. Fingers fiddling with the hem of your shirt, looking up at him through your lashes, all guileless and charming.Â
He canât help himself, stepping into your space, hands cupping over yours. âYou donât have to leave,â he murmurs.
You could stay forever, if you want.Â
He pauses there, just a breath away. Waiting for you to close the distance, let him know this is okay.
Your thumb flexes, the knuckle stroking up against his palm. You lick your bottom lip and he can feel the humid air stirring, can taste the breath you share. You stare at the place where his collar rises above his loose shirt, pupils ocean-deep.Â
The seconds seem to dilate, an infinity held between each heartbeat.Â
He can feel your desire as if it were his own. You want. So badly.
And yet you reach for the door.
âSee you tomorrow,â you toss shakily over your shoulder.
Then youâre gone.
âŠ
The mission is a simple reconnaissance. A gala at the Primrose Hotel and Ballroom, a cocktail party billed as a charity event.Â
The two of you loiter on the balcony, waiting and watching for the mark to arrive.
Xavier has a history with formal wear, but youâre clearly not as comfortable in the floor length gown theyâve put you in. Itâs a simple ensemble, meant to fade into the background of the more elaborate outfits tonight. But itâs heavy, not easy to run in. It puts you on edge.
He watches you adjust your spaghetti strap for the hundredth time tonight, sticking a thumb between the satin and your skin, pulling forward and back. He thinks about tucking his finger there, too.Â
Two hours in, you're on your second pheromone cigarette, the scent overwhelming everything else, clinging to your hair, your clothes. Itâs another one of your odd little quirks â you never smell like you. Always doused in alpha cologne, chewing infused gum, smoking those potent cigarettes.Â
Curious, Xavier holds out his hand. You pass it to him wordlessly.Â
Even the taste of your lips lingering on the paper isnât enough to outweigh his displeasure. The synthetic pheromones are so pungent and heavy on his tongue it nearly makes him gag.
You take it back with a laugh, but heâs not sure you really like them either. Sometimes you barely even smoke, just let it turn to ash between your fingers.Â
âI offer to buy you the finest cigarettes in Linkon,â he says. âAnd you would rather go around reeking of alpha.â
âThatâs the point. Maybe I want to be extraordinary too,â you say wryly. âLike you.â
âIâm nothing special,â he returns.
âOkay, mister dominant alpha.â
He leans his elbows against the railing, looking off over the skyscape. The city flickers with its halogen glow, a million little windows lit up against the dark night.
âIn my family,â he begins, a bemused tilt to his lips, âitâs just whatâs expected of us. We marry alphas. We breed alphas. Not for love, but to consolidate power. Our secondary genders are just another means to an end.â
It might be the first time heâs ever willingly mentioned his family to you. You take a second to mull this information over, not exactly pleased about the divulgence.
âRather draconian,â you say.
âItâs bullshit,â he corrects. âNone of it matters.â
You stare at him, all shadows and satin, so beautiful despite your discomfort, the tension in your features. He wishes he could just spirit you away, back home, where a warm bed and soft pajamas are waiting. He wishes you never had to have a conversation like this, that makes you look at him with such stoic resignation.Â
âIt doesnât matter,â he says again. Meaning it.
âEasy for someone at the top of the food chain to say.â You take another drag, then ash your cigarette. The target is here.Â
You do your work schmoozing while Xavier runs interference with some of the other partygoers. He watches you from the corner of his eyes, hackles raising when he sees the man place a hand on your shoulder, right on top of that silky little strap.
Distracted, he barely catches the invitation posed to him.Â
âA dominant like you must be in need of more companionship than most.â A wink. A tap on his arm. âWe have more than enough to keep you satisfied.â
An omega brothel. Quite bold to bring it up so openly, but the upper echelons tend to be less squeamish about breaking laws. There had been a crackdown years ago, but it was pointless. There would always be desperate omegas, and there would always be people keen to keep them that way.Â
Xavier pastes on a disarming smile, hoping that the night will be over soon. âI already have a companion. Theyâre quite enough for me.â
Thirty minutes later, you have what you came for. You send off the new information to Intel, and then hunt down Xavier, waiting for you in the corner of the ballroom.Â
Heâs leaning against the wall, arms crossed. He doesnât look up when you approach, just continues to stare out across the sea of shimmering sequins and taffeta.Â
The band is playing a song so similar to one heâs heard before. A long, long time ago. He knows it canât possibly be the same, but with you standing at his side in formalwear while the violins fill the air, a melancholy deja vu comes over him. Itâs all he can do to sit with the sensation until the song flutters to an end.
You donât interrupt his brood, inured to his mood swings. You just stand beside him, tapping your foot along to the beat.Â
âYou were standing quite close,â he says finally.
âWe were having a conversation.â
You step in front of him, ducking to try to catch his eyes. He still wonât look at you.
With one warm hand, you cup his chin, squeezing his cheeks. Forcing him to meet your gaze.Â
His frown deepens.Â
âLook at that face,â you drawl. âAre you gonna waste the night being grumpy, or are you gonna dance with me?â
As if he could ever resist an offer like that.Â
Taking your hand, he leads you out onto the dance floor and into a seamless waltz. You donât know the steps, but Xavier guides you through it. Your hands rest, warm and soft on his shoulders. He squeezes your hips, moves you like a gentle caress.
Itâs so effortless between you two, pace for pace, beat for beat. He leads, and you trust him. A perfect equilibrium in Ÿ time.
âHow are you so good at this?â you ask, laughing as he dips you.
âMaybe itâs just a product of our bodily compatibility.â
âI think youâre just a show off.â
He smiles. âThat too.â
He pauses when the waltz draws to an end, waiting to see if you'll pull away. Instead, you take a step closer, urging him into another dance.Â
You splay your hands against his lapels, thumbing at the fine boning of the peak. Your finger slips beneath the fold on the left side, still two layers away, but nearer to his heart now.Â
He grips you tighter, leaning over you so your cheeks brush.Â
Like this, he thinks he can smell the true scent of you. Something like a cool spring day, a soft epiphany. Gentle and soothing, even in the glamorous clamour of this place.Â
Or maybe he just wants you so bad heâs started to hallucinate.
He pulls you away when you finally begin to lag two dances later, your heels aching. Dutifully, he fetches you glasses of designer cocktails, teasing you when you tell him you need to make use of the open bar while you have the chance.
He humors all your silly conversation topics, nods eagerly along to your meandering stories. He holds his arm out for you to investigate his shiny, intricate cufflink, laughing when you accidentally trigger the release mechanism and it rolls away into the crowd, lost.Â
You pat apologetically at his exposed wrist. He flexes his arm, just to hear you giggle at the rise of veins and muscle there.Â
He indulges you a bit more than he should, enamoured by your tipsiness.Â
Your touches grow bolder, less inhibited. You pet his lapels, his chest, the way he knows you wanted to while you were dancing.Â
Your pinky strokes against the high collar of his shirt, where the fabric folds against his skin, and he suppresses a shudder.Â
You try to tuck a finger into his shirt, but he grabs your hand, pressing a kiss to it.
âThatâs enough.â
You give him a playful pout as you acquiesce, handing over your empty glass for him to deal with, letting him guide you out of the ballroom and upstairs. You have the suite for the whole night, which heâs grateful for. One less flight of stairs for you to navigate in your tipsy state.Â
After seating you on the bed, he slips off your shoes, rubbing gently at your sore heels. Then he grabs your ankles, using them to twist your body fully onto the bed.
You gasp, swatting at him playfully. He catches your wrist, thumb rubbing your knuckles.Â
âLay down,â he tells you. âItâs time to sleep.â
âI'm not tired.â
âTry counting sheep. Here, I'll help.â He unfolds your fingers, listing them off. âOne sheepâŠtwo sheepâŠthree sheep-â
You wrestle your hand back with a murmur of exasperation, and he rises, stalking to the far side of the room.Â
For a moment he curses the stinginess of the Association, the suite so compact it barely takes him three strides to cross it.Â
He fiddles with the control panel mounted on the wall, just to give himself something to do. He sets the temperature to your preference, dims the lights, sets the alarm so you won't oversleep. When did he come to know you better than himself? How has he ever been able to hold himself back from taking care of you, just like this?
He turns back to you, feeling lost.Â
Your eyes meet his. Clear, cognizant. As if you'd never really been drunk at all.Â
âXavier,â you say, just to say it. His name is heavy in your voice, potent. âXavier.â
You're sprawled on the bed, limbs akimbo, skirt bunched up around your thighs. If he bent over, he'd probably be able to catch a glimpse of your panties.Â
Youâre so trusting, all alone with an alpha like him.
But thatâs the spell you have over him, so willing to bend to your wishes, give in to your pace. Heâd crawl like a dog for you.
Some part of you must know. Maybe thatâs why you like him, over all the other alphas. Maybe you enjoy stringing him along like this.
But you look at him so artless, so adoring. Thereâs no maliciousness in the way you raise your arms, silently demanding his embrace.
And he comes back to you, powerless to deny you anything.Â
You wind your arms around his shoulder. He lets you draw him closer, catching himself with a hand on the headboard before he collapses on top of you.
Still, youâre chest to chest, so close he can feel the warmth of your skin. One of those teasing little dress straps has slid off your shoulder, limp.
You nose against his throat, tucking into the ultra-sensitive spot right below his ear. Right where his scent gland is.Â
You place the softest, most tender kiss there.
The headboard bends under his grip, splintering slightly. He squeezes his eyes shut, vying for self control.
âSweet,â you murmur.
âIt could be even sweeter,â he returns. His voice hardly sounds like it belongs to him.
But it doesnât matter. Youâre asleep in his arms. Heâs harder than heâs ever been.Â
âŠ
Debrief is at eight. The two of you have just enough time to stop at home for a quick bite and to change into your uniforms before heading over to the hunter base.Â
He stares at you on the elevator ride up. The dawn is pink and hazy, a sort of unreality to the waking world thatâs carried over from the night. But here in the cool light of the fluorescents, things finally feel close enough to grasp again.Â
âYou are extraordinary,â he whispers. So quiet heâs not even sure if he said it at all.Â
But you look back at him with some indecipherable expression. Eyes full of longing, trepidation.Â
You donât respond. Â
The base is busy today, despite it being a weekend. A sudden influx of issues has created a perfect storm, everyone rushing to tie up their own odds and ends. Even the meeting room was occupied just before your own, and you watch a few exhausted hunters file out, the door hissing shut behind them.
You pause just before heading in, hesitating.
Xavier places a hand on your shoulder. âWhatâs wrong?â
âI donât know,â you say. Then, thinking better of it, âIâm cold.â
Unconvinced, he still bundles you into his jacket, buttoning it all the way up to your chin. He holds onto the collar, testing your temperature with a hand against your cheek. He feels an answering pressure for just a moment, leaning into his touch before you can catch yourself.
âHangover?â
You pull away with a little laugh. âIâm fine,â you tell him, heading inside.
You do seem better after that, able to get through the meeting without incident. Sometimes he catches you out of the corner of his eye, pulling the collar of his jacket higher so you can tuck your nose into it.
He knows youâve been stealing his clothes. Everytime you come over, skimming off the top layer of his hamper. But who is he to judge after pilfering your panties whenever the opportunity presents itself.Â
He wishes you would just ask. Heâd let you raid his closet whenever you want.
To his disgruntlement, you get dragged into a conversation with a few other hunters in the lobby.Â
Itâs mostly posturing. They brag to you about their missions, their encounters with wanderers.Â
Then one of them puts his hands on you.Â
Itâs a dumb joke thatâs gone too far. No one thought it was funny to begin with when he suggested they should start letting omegas become hunters to âencourage alphas.â
A big hand on your waist, he leers. âYou sure youâre not an omega, with hips like this?â
Normally youâd have no trouble bringing someone like this to heel. But for some reason, at this moment you go doe-eyed and still. Itâs the fear on your face that has Xavier stepping in before he can think better of it.
The asshole falls to his knees. The wet snap of a dislocated shoulder. A shout of pain.
Alpha pheromones fill the room, a suffocating miasma of domination and anger and stress and submission. Even scent patches are useless when tensions are this high, especially in a place as alpha-heavy as a hunter building.
âI suggest you treat your colleagues with more respect,â Xavier warns. âUnless you want to lose the arm altogether.â
His rational mind forces him to release the other man, knowing bloodshed would only cause more problems. Not that he wouldnât feel justified in ending this lowlifes existence. If you were mates, it would be well within his rights to slaughter someone for laying hands on you.Â
But youâre not. He has no real claim on you.Â
And now youâve left the building.
Blood hot, restless with the need to soothe you, own you, Xavier chases.
He catches up to you rounding the corner, into an alley that cuts through to your street.Â
You stiffen as he approaches, already on the defense. You only half turn toward him, like youâre still ready to bolt.Â
He raises a hand, needing to comfort you.Â
You â flinch.Â
His stomach drops. âI would never hurt you.â
âYou do it all the time,â you say, bitterly. âYou just donât realize.âÂ
Your eyes dart at the sound of another pedestrian. Your hands clutch his jacket tighter around you.
âThen tell me,â he begs. âLet me know so I can fix it.â
âI donât need to be fixed,â you snap, realizing your mistake just a second too late.
His eyes narrow. He can almost hear your heart racing, the cadence of a cornered mouse.
âTell me,â he says again, taking a step forward.
Youâre nearly hyperventilating now, and heâs torn between the urge to console and the urge to berate you for keeping secrets.
âXavier. Stop.â
He doesnât. Incensed, aroused. Instincts all upended. Why wonât you allow him to comfort you when you both clearly need it?
He reaches for you.
You draw your gun.
It feels like the gravity has increased a million times, a sinking pit. His heart feels leadend in his chest. âYou donât trust me?â
âItâs not about you.â
You run.
âŠ
He should have just let you shoot him. That would be less agonizing than ⊠whatever this is.
Three days. You havenât responded to any of his texts, wonât answer his calls.Â
He paces outside your door, waiting for some divine intervention to strike him down. The biolock will respond to his fingerprint. Itâs just for emergencies, youâd agreed. But this feels like an emergency â he misses you.Â
What if youâre mad at him?
With the delicacy of a lockpick, he presses his thumb to the scanner. The lock disengages. He turns the knob. Opens the door.
The lights are off, but he knows youâre inside, has been watching your place to catch you if you left. He hasnât seen you at the windows, or heard you shuffling around. The place is eerily silent, dark.Â
There, in the center of the living room, youâre curled up in a pile of his clothes. Pantsless, with only a drooping button down shirt on.Â
It hits him all at once â
Desire so sweet and viscous, he feels mired in it. A black hole sucking away all rationality, leaving him no tether to grab on to, nothing to hold him back from coming over you on all fours and burying his face against your tender throat.
A groan bubbles up from the pit of his stomach.
There it is. The scent of cherry blossom and clean, gentle rain.Â
This feeling heâs been chasing after for so long. Soul deep recognition. His mate. His mate.Â
âMmm.â He presses a kiss against your shoulder, your jaw. âDid I trigger your heat?â
You hiss, burying your face deeper into the soft fabrics beneath you.Â
âIâm sorry,â he murmurs. âIâll take responsibility for it. As long and hard as you need.â
You arch, bumping your hips against his leg. He canât help the way his hips surge forward in response, seeking out your softness. Heâs already soaked through his pants.Â
But he canât take you here â it would hurt your back.Â
âLet me see.â He grabs your shoulder, turning you so he can see your face. âLet your alpha help.â
Despite every instinct in him raging for him to get closer, he pulls back. Enough to meet your cloudy gaze. He says your name. Holds a hand out to you.Â
You take it.
He carries you to your room, barely cognizant of doing it. Your bed is littered with more of his clothes, as if one nest wasnât enough to contain your nesting instinct. The sight makes his chest squeeze, makes him hurry to place you in the midst of it all.
He kisses at the exposed skin of your chest as he works on your shirt. He gets to the last button before he realizes. âIs this mine, too?â
âSorry,â you say, giving him a sheepish smile.
âIt looks better on you, anyway,â he says. âBut we donât need anything on, right now.â
You raise your arms for him to strip you. The shirt flutters limply to the floor. He might expect you to be shy, given how you were just minutes ago, but you leave your hands loose at your sides, letting him look.Â
He drops his forehead against your stomach, heart in his throat.Â
Itâs all he can do to not fall on you like a starving animal.Â
He takes a deep breath, trying to calm down, but even the air is thick with your scent, the heat of your permeating his lungs.Â
He canât stop himself.
He kisses your navel, nuzzles the soft peach fuzz that leads to your groin. He nudges your thighs apart, fitting his shoulders between them. Youâre open for him, so needy youâre glossy with it, so soft and tender.Â
Heâs never wanted anything more.Â
With a flat tongue, he licks right into you. You buck at the sudden stimulus, but he holds you down, dragging your legs over his shoulders and securing them there with strong hands. He licks again, fully parting you this time, exposing all of you for him to taste.Â
Heâs too worked up to be coy with it. Itâs desperate and wet, and everything he can give you all at once. You cum suddenly, without build up, itâs all just too much, and you clench around his tongue, gasping as he laps at the new rush of slick, as he tries to coax more out of you.
Youâve barely come down from your first orgasm before heâs working you up to another one, sucking in a way thatâs too intense to be comfortable, but so good your thighs tighten around his ears, begging for more.Â
You fist your hands in his hair and he moans into you, hips jerking against the bed.Â
He canât even spare a hand to unzip his pants, one rubbing tight circles into your clit, the other holding you secure against him so he can eat you out uninterrupted. He humps against the mattress, chafing, desperate. He breathes in the humid scent of you and his eyes roll back in his skull.Â
Itâs less abrupt this time. He can feel the pleasure gathering at your core, your legs trembling, your chest heaving. Still, he has to hold you down for it, forcing you to accept the peak you so badly need, that has you curling up around him, clutching him to you with all four limbs as he gives and gives it to you.Â
He slows as you come down, licks interspersed with adoring kisses against your sensitive clit. He wants another orgasm from you like this, but you shove at him, pushing him off you.
Free from the onset of sensation, you toss an arm over your eyes, turning away from him.
Xavier climbs over you, one wet hand stroking your back. âDid I hurt you?âÂ
The concern in his voice is enough to draw your gaze.
âI'm embarrassed,â you admit, wryly. âI donât feel like myself, right now.â
He bumps his forehead against yours. Full of tenderness, sympathy. How difficult it must be to be so vulnerable.Â
He lets a wave of pheromones settle over your both, a gentle soothing shower. Heâs never done this for another omega, but it feels right, with you. Heâs never cared much at all about being an alpha, but if thereâs one thing heâs glad for, itâs that he can offer you a little bit of comfort.
âIt's okay to be scared. And it's okay to want this,â he says. âIt's okay to feel good.â
You reach a hand up to fiddle with a lock of his hair, biting your lip. He takes it from you with his own teeth, sucking on it until youâre pliable again.Â
âIt's just you and me here,â he tells you. âDon't think about anything else.â
He kisses you slowly, with supple pulls of his lips, drawing your tongue into his own mouth.Â
âXavier?â you whisper, pulling back as he nibbles at your jaw.Â
âYes, starlight? What can I do for you?âÂ
You lean forward, lips brushing against his ear.Â
âI want to feel good,â you whisper. âI want you to make me feel good.â
âŠ
Heâs still inside you when you wake. Face to face, your leg draped over his hip.
Heâd knotted again sometime while you slept, the bulge of it an odd comfort. You hike yourself a little higher against him, testing the tie. Youâre still so slick you could probably pull away, if you wanted to. You donât really want to.
At your wriggling, he smiles, eyes still closed.
âGood morning,â he whispers. âHow do you feel?â
âI donât know,â you tell him. âOverwhelmed? And hungry. And horny.â
He squeezes you, smothering a laugh in your hair. âGot it. Letâs take those one at a time.â
Sometimes you forget how physically powerful Xavier is. Itâs so easy for him to maneuver you both out of bed, carry you to the kitchen while heâs still locked inside you.Â
One arm bracing you, he starts pulling things out of your cupboards. For a moment you worry heâs going to attempt to cook, but he just mixes together a concoction of vitamins and protein powders, heating it to steaming with his evol.
Maybe itâs just your hunger, but as he seats you both on the couch and you take your first sip, itâs the best thing youâve ever tasted.
Heâs patient as you drink, playing with the fingers of your free hand, pressing soft kisses to your shoulders. His knot has begun to go down, but heâs still hard inside you, content to just feel you around him. He wonders if youâd be opposed to spending every morning like this.
âI have one of these, too,â he says, tapping the mug. Itâs your favorite, the first thing you bought for yourself when you moved out. âI saw it in the store and I couldnât help myself. I imagined us eating breakfast together, drinking from matching mugs.â
You can see it so clear in your mind, mornings with Xavier. Itâs a wonder this is your first. You canât hold back your smile, picturing him with the cutesy novelty mug. âThat sounds really nice.â
Xavier is quiet, after that, letting you finish your drink while he watches you. You meet his eye, give him an inquisitive hum.
âDo you think you would have told me, eventually?â
Thereâs not a hint of accusation in his tone, just gentle curiosity, but in your delicate state the question makes your eyes well with tears.Â
âNo, no, donât cry,â he says. âItâs okay. Iâve got you. Everything is okay.â
Xaver places your cup on the table so he can press even closer, take your face between his hands, kiss your wet cheeks, your lips.Â
âWill you talk to me?âÂ
You give him a nod.Â
He considers you for a long moment, smoothing his thumb over your brow as he thinks about what he wants to ask. âDid you know we were fated?â
âProbably,â you admit. âUsually I canât even smell my own scent past the perfume, but I must have recognized you subconsciously. I just knew that I really, really liked you.â
He kisses you again for that.Â
âHow were you handling your heats before this?â
âI havenât had one in years. Iâm recessive.â Your eyes start to well again. âAnd everything was fine until I met you, and now I canât control my pheromones and I got my heat and everything is a mess and you hate me.â
His hands squeeze your hips, your thighs. âHow could I ever hate you? Youâre the other half of me.â
âYouâre not mad?â
âIâm not mad. I promise. I promise.â
âI wanted to tell you. I thought about it all the time.â
He looks at you, all soft and warm, so sweet in his arms. His, from the first.Â
He tweaks your nose, endlessly fond. âI knew.â
For a moment, youâre shocked. He can see the questions brewing as you try to untangle that. But then you settle into him, forehead knocking against his shoulder. Utterly relieved.
âOf course,â you say. âOf course you knew.â
He dries your eyes, ignoring your indignant whine when he rubs at your wet nose, too. You laugh when he threatens to lick it, telling you thereâs nothing to be embarrassed about, he savors every part of you.
You push at his face, mortified, grinning. He catches your hands, nipping your pinky.Â
âYou should let me mate you.â
Your smile falls. âWhat?â
And yet the idea still makes you clench around him.Â
âWell, itâs going to happen eventually.â He rocks up into you, smiling when you gasp. âAnd you wouldnât have to worry about hiding your pheromones anymore. We could live together, spend every day together. You wouldnât have to make up excuses to steal my clothes anymore.â
He builds to a steady, shallow rhythm. Not enough to disrupt your seat on him, but to tease, coax. You grind back down, hips rolling with his.
âBut youââ The thought is interrupted by a soft moan, fingers scrabbling against his nape, tugging at his hair.Â
Xavier grabs your waist, stilling you. When you jerk again in his hold, not willing to have your pleasure deferred, he takes your chin in his hand, forcing you to meet his eyes.Â
He rubs his nose against yours. âTell me.â
It takes you a moment to remember what your concern was. Right now the most pressing issue is getting him to move again.Â
âYouâre supposed to marry an alpha?â It comes out sounding like a question, so unsure of yourself in the face of all thatâs happened. Unsure if it even matters to you anymore.
âI never thought youâd be one to give in to social conventions.â He cocks his head, looking up at you through his lashes. âI donât care what anyone else wants. I want you.â
You wriggle, nervous, unwilling to voice the question thatâs on your mind. Why?
But heâd tell you a million times, without shame. You donât even have to ask.Â
âI like that you cheat at cards,â he says. âI like that even though you tease me, you still take the time to explain things I donât understand. I like that you come looking for me when I disappear. I like that youâre kind, and sweet, and silly. I like that youâre brave enough to become a hunter, despite the obstacles. And I like that youâre going to be brave enough to let me help you.â
He starts to rock again, holding you tight so your clit grinds against his groin, so he can please you, keep you close. Â
âWouldnât it be nice? To belong to each other?â He leans forward, resting his chin on your chest so he can kiss your throat. âI want to be yours.â
And, yeah. You want that too.
âŠ
Two days later, and your heat has finally subsided.Â
You wake slowly, groggy but satisfied. Maybe more satisfied than youâve ever been.Â
Xavier is already up, peering at you with soft, bright eyes. One hand resting casually between your things, another palming the skin of your nape.Â
âDoes it hurt?â
In the moment, your endorphins had been so high you felt nothing but pleasure. Now, in the afterglow, his bite aches along with the rest of your overtaxed body.
âOnly a little,â you say. âBut Iâm thirsty.â
A smile that wrinkles his nose. âYour wish is my command.â
He comes back with a glass of water, an electrolyte drink, and a first aid kit, arranging you between his thighs so he can take care of your neck.
âI read about post-mating care. Iâll pick up some bite salve later. And I think you should take at least another few days off. Your hormones will probably need some time to adjust.â He slips a hand into yours. âThis will sting a bit.â
You hiss at the cold dab of antiseptic, squeezing his fingers.Â
âIâm sorry,â he murmurs. âI didn't think it went so deep.â
âDonât be sorry,â you return. âIâm glad.â
He takes a moment to flick through the bandages, selecting one with the utmost care. Only later, alone in front of the mirror, will you realize itâs your favorite color. You feel him stick it on, so gentle itâs almost another caress.
âXavier?â
âYes?âÂ
âYouâre really mine?â
He kisses your shoulder, right beside his new bite. âAlways have been.â
xavier is jealous and possessive, and he shoves you down onto his cock to cope
He is messier when heâs angry. His tongue pushes into your mouth, invading. Thereâs no precision or gentle guidance. He consumes you. He takes and takes and leaves his spit in return... around your mouth... down your chin.
âTell me again,â he gasps between kisses.
âXavier,â you answer with a whimper.
âMm, thatâs right.â He pulls back just enough to glide his thumb over your wet bottom lip. âJust me.â
âI didnâtââ
âI know, baby, I know,â he purrs. âIt wasnât your fault. Iâm so mean taking it all out on you, hm?â You nod as he plays with your lip. âMm, I know. Xavier is the worstâŠâ
His next kiss is gentle, his lips ghosting over yours before he kisses where his thumb had been. An apology.
Itâs you that chases him now, falling with him as he settles back into the couch cushions properly. His thighs are warm under you. The thin material of his lounge pants move freely as you squirm.
You canât help moving as you kiss him; you couldnât stay still if you tried. Itâs your body asking for more. Greedy. Even with your hands gripping the fabric of his shirt tightly. Even with his warm, wet tongue in your mouth, your hips roll, desperate and eager.
âI didnâtââ you try again, cutting yourself off against his swollen lips. âI didnât know.â
His fingers tangle in your hair, holding you away from his mouth just enough for him to look into your eyes. Then, slowly, his fingers lift to your lips⊠to trace them⊠to press against them⊠and then to breach. Two fingers pass your lips and fill your mouth, pressing against your tongue, keeping you quiet.
It had happened minutes earlier.
You couldnât sleep, and so, like you often did, youâd slipped your underwear down your legs and thought of the man living just above you. You tried to be quiet. You were usually so good. But as your fingers slipped through the mess you made between your legs, you found yourself whining, whimpering⊠calling his name.
The slam of your front door closing had you bolting upright, quickly startled back to reality. Were you being loud? Youâd looked to your open window. The one that led out to your balcony. Surely, not loud enough for him to hearâŠ
But then Xavier fills in your doorway, dressed for bed, but looking uncharacteristically awake for the hour.
Oh.
You quickly discovered it was worse than youâd assumed. Heâd lifted you from the bed, underwear around your ankles, and carried you out to the balcony.
With your legs around his waist, heâd told you what heâd heard. His name. Your desperate sounds. And then heâd told you what heâd seen.
Your neighbour.
On his own balcony.
The one next to yours.
Listening.
Listening to what was Xavierâs alone.
His fingers press a little against your tongue as you wiggle in his lap, slick pussy making a mess of his pants. âBut he heard,â Xavier says. âHe heard you⊠he heard the pretty sounds you make⊠while you had your little fingers all over whatâs mine, hm?â
You nod with a small hum, unable to speak.
His fingers slide out a little, before pressing back inside. And again. A rhythm develops. One he keeps up with as he speaks, âI couldâve teleported to him. Couldâve pushed him over the railing before he heard another sound.â His clear blue eyes look grey in the dark apartment, lit only by the moon.
His words hold some of his usual softness, like he wasnât talking about murdering your friendly (apparently voyeuristic) neighbour. Your teeth graze lightly against his fingers as they retreat and enter, retreat and enter. âThey belong to me,â he continues. âThe sounds you makeâŠâ
You nod.
âThis mouth.â
Nod.
âYour cunt.â
Nod.
His fingers slip free of your lips and despite being given your voice back, you donât speak. Instead, you lean against him, settling your face into the crook of his neck, lips against his warm skin. One soft kiss. You both breathe⊠heavy⊠waiting.
âYou were thinking of me,â he says finally. Itâs not a question.
You answer it anyway. âYes,â you whisper.
He lifts your head, cradling your face in his palms.
âOnly me?â
You nod quickly, eyes watery.
âMy good girlâŠâ Praise.
When you grind down into him again, he catches your hips. âTell me what you want, hm?â Soft and kind.
âYou,â you answer. It comes out with a little squeak at the end as you suck in a breath, holding back tears.
âXavier?â
âXavier.â
He holds you close as he stands, keeping your messy core pressed tight against him. You expect to be dropped onto a mattress. Instead, itâs cold glass that meets your back.
His lips find your neck, and heâs just as messy as he was with your mouth. He sucks and bites marks into your skin and laves his tongue over them in apology.
You have less control like this. You canât grind down into him. You have to rely entirely on the way he rolls into you, pressing you against the cold, ceiling-to-floor pane.
By the time heâs finished with your neck, youâre whimpering his name in broken pleas.
âItâs okay,â he soothes, his own breathing uneven. âIâll fill you now, baby. Xavier will fill you now.â
You think you say please. Youâre babbling little broken words into his ear, clinging to him like he held your life in his hands, as he often had before.
Then his tip is prodding at your twitchy hole. You suck in shallow breaths as he teases. Breaching⊠just⊠retreating⊠âbelongs to meâ⊠âmy drippy little thingâ⊠he mutters as he prods, slips his tip around your messy entrance.
Youâre both so slick now that a vulgar sound fills your ears⊠fills your head so completely that you imagine it slipping out into the dark night and filling the empty street too. You imagine him leaking against you, mixing his pre with your slick.
Then, without warning, he drops you down onto him, stuffing you so full so suddenly that you make a sound that MUST escape out your open balcony door. A sound that has him wrapping his arms around you and fucking you down onto himself like a toy... over and over and over.
âThatâs it⊠thatâs it, baby. Let him hear,â he pants into your neck. âLet him hear me breed my girl.â
His lips find yours again. And the way they move against you is almost embarrassing, even as heâs buried inside you against window on a clear, bright night. Heâs clumsy and lazy, and the wet, messy noises sound a lot like when heâs lapping at your cunt.
The ceiling lights flicker as he shoves himself inside you again and again. Heâs prettiest like this. Wild and claiming. Powerful. A little sweaty. Lips pink and swollen from devouring what had always belonged to him.
girl who is intimidating and horrible at talking. girl who only fights close combat even with guns. (they cant fucking see) girl who is just scary
oc lore with the LIs under the cut.
keeping this here for future doodle ideas + early interactions/first impressions before i actually go and redo the whole main story lol
(some main story spoilers inbound!)
xavier
partners!!!!! super awkward in the beginning (they both have autism) but they grow closer over eating late meals and grabbing snacks together during missions. abby is very much a "it's not my business so i'm not gonna pry" type of person so she isn't going to ask him many personal questions and would just trust him regardless of any kind of weird situation. probably the most okay with skinship with him in the beginning since they kinda have to do that to resonate.
zayne
oh god he knows everything. abigail has a FAT STACK of medical papers. they are mentally ill and have some physical issues as well (on top of the canon protocore in the heart situation) super fucking embarrassed that he knows as much as he does as their primary care doctor. although they trust him fully since he pretty much knows all of their little secrets, she still holds a bit of a grudge against him for disappearing during their childhood. bonds over sweets. probably hangs out a lot at akso since they're prone to injuries and the like. takes full responsibility for all their injuries and would sit and take zayne's lectures to heart.
rafayel
"is he actually stupid" -abby probably. they don't mesh well together at first but she does unconsciously become more protective of him over time. lets him do whatever without question. will begrudgingly play along with raf's shenanigans but takes their job as their bodyguard a bit too seriously at times. abby would be verbal about having their personal space/being uncomfortable with closeness/sudden touches but eventually trusts him the more they get to know each other. full on bickering as soon as they become close. "raf, do you know what it means when a man is called a babygirl?"
sylus
fully DETESTS the man in the beginning. i would say she would pull the trigger every chance she gets LOL. straight up just the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers slowburn to the max. abby would like mephisto more than him at first and be straightforward about it. they'd get closer through mephisto initially, then luke and kieran. "i'm not here for you, i'm here to play kitty cards with luke and kieran" -abby showing up at onychinus. lots of charged flirtatious banter and trying to out-sass each other. would call mephisto a "handsome little man" and sylus "just a little above average looking"
caleb
next stop ANGST CITY! very close initially since they grew up together but hit a wall when abby hit their rebellious phase in college. they stopped being close after caleb went away. after the whole caleb-died-but-lived-actually debacle, they'll be even more distant until an inevitable confrontation between them happens. takes a longer time to trust him again but she does lean into his touch the most out of all the LIs at the start. abby won't be the sleuthing type but would voice their disdain about having secrets kept between them. uses the "okay well you lied about being dead" to be petty in an argument.
