Happiest of Happy Birthdays to my comfort character.

Thalia has always been my character soulmate. She never backs down from a challenge, always protects her friends, has a sassy comeback for every quip, and never passes up a chance to throw a punch.

She has all the courage I work so hard to have, and she is my sole motivation some days.

Ik it’s stupid to be so sentimental over a fictional character, but she has made my life better in so many ways.

Sometimes a legit lie awake at night and contemplate how Thalia, Luke, and Annabeth survived on the street.

Did they have to steal? Did they have part-time jobs? How did they learn and become the smart teens we see in the pjo books if they didn’t have a tutor or school program? What did they do all day? Where did they sleep? What was the time frame that they were on the run? Did Thalia have to give Annabeth The Talk™️? When and where did Grover find them? Did Luke know about Jason?

Best boyfriend, mama’s boy, Wanted-In-Ten-States, son, nephew, brother, Persassy, Mister Evading Death, king of sarcasm, blue food connoisseur, hero, friend to all.

He was the first character I met in the Riordanverse. From that first sassy line I knew I was going to fall head-over-heels for him and his stories.

As hard as it must have been on Annabeth to grow up on the streets, being raised by Luke and Thalia must have been. so fun.

It must have been such a relief to not have to be perfect all the time: to be able to talk back (ofc Thalia would have encouraged it), cuss without repercussions (I’m sure she picked up on swear words realll quick around two rogue teens), and act like a hooligan (she had wonderful examples lmao).

She could just be a kid. A kid constantly chased by monsters, living on the streets, and learning abt all kinds of teenager stuff at 7, sure; but a kid nonetheless.

That cliff had a sheer 50 ft drop and she just like. roundhouse kicked his sorry ass. She didn’t pay attention to the height, she just knew she had to protect her friends.

Part 3 of What would have happened if Sally had accepted Poseidon’s offer to live under the sea with him? headcanons.

Sally, being the angel that she is, writes a 4-page letter apologizing and explaining everything. She ticks it in a gift basket that is full of fancy chocolate and bath bombs and candles and pickle chips and a pair of slippers and fresh flowers. She then delivers the box to Amphitrite, and waits in suspense for some kind of response.

After reading Sally’s heartfelt letter (explaining that she didn’t know much about Greek lore and that she didn’t realize Poseidon was married, and how if she did she never would have dated him and how she was so sorry that she hurt her) Amphitrite realizes that Sally isn’t the one she should be angry with.

Amphitrite confronts Poseidon and tells him that something in their marriage needs to change. She talks him that she is okay with him having flings with mortal women, but after Sally (who she has decided to like) she expects to be his #1 and she doesn’t want him to prioritize any other lady. He agrees that this is fair, and reminds her that it goes both ways, that he is open to taking breaks from each other so that eternity will be less… difficult.

So relative peace has been restored. And then Percy arrives!! Our tiny half-blood hero himself 💙🌊

Percy is the final piece of the puzzle that brings the mismatched family together. He grows up hanging out with Triton, baking blue food with his mom in their little palace home, having sleepovers at the Atlantis Palace, helping his dad and learning how to be a “prince” alongside Triton, and playing board games with his stepmom.

And Sally never regrets her decision to say yes.

Part 2 of What would have happened if Sally had accepted Poseidon’s offer to live under the sea with him? headcanons

Sally decides that she doesn’t want to brave single parenting. And she doesn’t want to return to the mortal world with a demigod in tow, knowing how dangerous it would be for her son. She also has realized that she loves Poseidon, and she doesn’t want to leave him even tho he’s crazy and immortal and a cheater

Sally tells Poseidon this, and he is relieved she hasn’t changed her mind. But he knows he has to talk to his wife about it.

He returns to his palace in Atlantis and has a discussion with Amphitrite. She admits that she is okay with his mortal flings, but she got scared of losing him when he got serious about this girl. That’s when he realizes he really hadn’t been the husband she deserved. He had to do better. For Amphitrite and Sally.

He cuddles Amphitrite and reminds her that he chose her to marry. But he also explains that Sally is a special mortal woman and she means a lot to him, and that he needs to protect her since she’s pregnant and Zeus absolutely cannot find out that he broke the rule.

Amphitrite is shocked by this. She hasn’t had a stepchild/demigod in years. She doesn’t know how to feel about that so she’s just kind of 🫠

Once is marriage is stable again, Poseidon returns to Sally’s palace to fill her in. Even though she doesn’t want to break up with Poseidon, she knows she has to make things right with Amphitrite.

What would have happened if Sally had accepted Poseidon’s offer to live under the sea with him?

Here are some headcanons…

When Poseidon proposes the idea to Sally, she’s so shocked. Only THE Sally Jackson could charm an immortal god into falling in love with her after a simple fling to the point of him wanting her to escape with him forever.

She decides to say yes, and Poseidon creates a beautiful underwater palace in a nook between some huge boulders. And he went all out: brightly colored coral landscaping in the courtyard, seaglass windows, white sandstone walls, and completely waterproof. When he finally shows it to her in a big reveal, she’s breathtaken.

Everything is fine for a few weeks, but soon Amphitrite gets suspicious after hearing from Aphrodite that her husband hasn’t been on Olympus like he told her. So she sends some of her scouts out to find him. When they return with the news that not only is he wooing another mortal lady, but he also built her a castle, Amphitrite absolutely. loses it.

She goes to the palace herself in a fit of rage, and screams at Poseidon for cheating on her again. Meanwhile Sally is standing there watching her boyfriend try to pacify this psycho underwater-woman and she’s like. Oops. I should have brushed up on my mythology before I got serious with this guy.

But wait!! The drama doesn’t end there bc she’s pregnant. With Percy, our favorite Seaweed Brain.

So now she has to decide - will she try to make it work with Poseidon, even tho Amphitrite is furious? Or will she leave him and embrace single parenting?

i like to think about leo valdez and how the conclusion to his arc in heroes of olympus was so stupid. kid who’s always running, never has a home, hasn’t felt loved in years and desperately wants romance, and the solution is… immortal goddess girlfriend who likes him seemingly bc he’s the only guy who she met who didn’t already have a girlfriend? idk. i feel like as cheesy as it is a better arc and oath to keep with a final breath and all that is leo sacrificing himself for his friends and new family on the argo 2. and then coming back to life for them and not for calypso.

the way he just abandons his friends after dying was kind of weird like? so much of the series there’s these moments of leo learning to let down his walls and care about his crew mates. and not be so defensive. especially with frank and hazel he becomes their friends enough that he tells them his plan to sacrifice himself when at the beginning he was trying to get with hazel and antagonizing frank. why is the conclusion to my favorite character ever so lackluster? his sacrifice and his growth are all so important to me, even the idea of calypso hating him and him not being the right type of hero for her was interesting. just having him fall in love felt like a cop out

Annabeth and Percy escaping the chaos and heat of CHB in the summer and heading out to Long Island’s lavender fields for dates.

Them running through the fields laughing and having picnics and laying on their backs to point out funny-shaped clouds and telling jokes until they laugh so hard they’re crying.

Just being alone with their love and friendship and romance. 💜🌿

Headcanon that not only can kids of Hades raise the dead and create skeleton armies, but they also have further psychic abilities.

Nico is very sensitive to the paranormal, and he can clearly see spirits and communicate with them. He often hears whispers and can sense presences as soon as he arrives in a place.

He's seen the dead (and spirits that were never human) all his life, and he's so desensitized to it, he will casually point out where he sees things to his friends and it completely terrifies Will.

He has tons of investigation equipment, and he loves to lead investigations on autumn weekends.

He detests ouija boards, and refuses to let anyone besides himself use one when he's around.

Bianca saw them too when she was alive, and she did her best to protect Nico from them. She kept protective gems, herbs and a vial of holy water with them. She was scared of her abilities, but Nico embraces them.

Percy, Thalia and Nico love to go ghost hunting together. Walking around haunted places and .terrifying themselves is their favorite way to bond as cousins.

What happens when Dionysus’s punishment is fulfilled and his 100 years are up?

He just leaves and Chiron has to run the whole camp by himself? Is another assistant director hired? Who is going to call the kids the wrong names and teach them chess or be the grumpy guy who makes the little ones laugh?

For all the demigods there, and all the surviving ones who have left camp, there has never been a Camp Half-Blood without Mr. D.

So headcanon that when he leaves the whole camp throws him a massive going away party and decorate the entire camp in purple and ripe grape vines (thanks to the Demeter kids) sing corny songs to him and he pretends to hate it but it actually makes him feel really special.
