Hey Peeps! So I was really shutting down hard when I first reblogged this, but I wanted to clean this post up a bit!
Miracle Modus - This is made by an Autistic person!!! Seriously, show them some love pls!
Viridi- Great app that I’ve owned for sometime now! Care for succulents in real time. Also, tap the snail and read the text ^-^
TW- mildly mentions death when you go to the store for your weekly free seed… really freaked me out at first but it’s easy to ignore.
RTM (Remember The Milk)- I just got this one and haven’t had a chance to try it out yet but the reviews looked pretty cool
Pocket Pond- haven’t gotten this yet
thisissand- I’ve had this before and I haven’t thought to re-download it till now. Really nice but can be frustrating if you have poor motor skills
Circle of Fifths infinite- Really fun, you slide music notes to create more music notes. A bit loud tho so keep your volume low until you can adjust it!
Fluid- The one by Fabien Sanglard. It looks beautiful! Nice visual stims!
Fantom Sensory Music- It’s pretty neat. It basically takes in your environment and makes a sound experience for you. It makes me think of that old app from the movie Inception where if you listens to it with headphones it would alter what you heard
Huge TW Looks a bit scary/gritty and seems to mention death…looks bad for people who don’t like seeing skulls or bones or don’t like augmented reality…. Probably not for peeps like me who struggle with paranoia
Smash Hit- Now I don’t play this personally but i know Taze loves this game. Very fast paced stimming for peeps who like to hear glass breaking
Abyssrium- I’ve had this one for some time now. It’s similar to Viridi but with fish. Also similar to Neko Atsume but with fish. You collect fish, tap the screen to get more vitality (hearts) to collect more fish. It is very cute!
Tap to Riches- I like this game because of the stim tapping as well. I tend to alter between Abyssrium and this when i feel like tapping my phone as a stim. You just tap houses to earn more money to buy more houses
Turtles, Huh?- I have played this app soooo many times. I got this app before I was diagnosed Autistic actually. It has about 7 mini games in it all of which are wonderfully stimmy. Plus it’s adorable.
Booster Buddy- Definitely Recommend!!! You get to wake up your buddy each day and they will give you tasks to do, talk to you about what’s wrong/going on and give you suggestions and coping methods!
Habitica- I actually recommend the site more than the app, but still very nice to have. Just don’t overload on to-do’s like I did! ^^;
Round- Very useful if you take medication! It’s the only medicine tracker I’ve been able to stand tbh. Beautiful interface, easy to use, and it happens to have a great customer support team! When I had a problem with my app someone from the team found me here on tumblr to help resolve the problem. Great experience.
Patatap- Now costs $1.99!
If you want to splurge on an app though, I recommend this one! I got it for free from a Starbucks thing a looong time ago and I’ve loved it ever since. I’ve beat it quite a few times but I come back for the beautiful nature of it. I even have art for it in my redbubble. It’s Absolutely remarkably beautiful. Especially great if you like learning about fonts!
Five Minute Journal- Costs $4.99 Also something I got free from a Starbucks promo (my old work was right next to Starbucks) Really simple journaling! Helps me remember my day to day and provides a nice quote each day.
Now, I’d like to mention:
Birdhouse- For Autism was removed from my recommended apps.
That’s because while it looks somewhat useful, it seems to be heavily supported by Autism $peaks and other harmful charities, and it very obviously uses person first language which can be very triggering for Autistics especially those who have gone through abuse.
It also very openly, as you can see in the second screenshot, supports ABA therapy which many of you know is abusive.
I have nothing against you as an Autistic person if you use this app to help yourself.
But I don’t think I would ever be able to.
That said, if you do use this app, leave a review! Explain that you’re an Autistic person and not a child! Speak out against A$ and ABA therapy in their review section! Maybe they’ll listen.
