The twist is, they're both jealous of each other.

I forget at times that when I think of Satan and Michael being brothers, it's not canon. That's based off of the VAs being brothers in real life.

Of course, their physical similarities are meant to highlight their differences as narrative foils to each other, but the broken family dynamic just speaks to me.

This is one of my favorite aspects of Superbook. I love seeing how the Christian creators depict Satan and express atheist arguments through him. The bias is so interesting to dissect.

Also, at this point, they're portraying him as either jealous or wary because he hasn't had any direct interaction with Jesus. I personally find him being envious of his "golden child" status fascinating.
