A children's show knows better design for Satan/Lucifer and Saint Peter. Also they commit to actually make them Bible accurate rather than their supposed adult selves.

So I'm casually going through old episodes of Superbook, a Christian anime from the 80s that I watched as a kid. Memory lane type of thing bc Fundie Fridays talked about it, and its one of those shows that exists at the very edge of my oldest memories and I almost forgot?

Anyway I clicked the episode about Abraham and Isaac, and i skip to the climactic scene, and Abraham is crying, saying "goodbye... my son"

and this is how they drew Isaac on the altar about to be fucking burnt alive as a ritual sacrifice to The Lord(idk which frame is funnier. Take both:)

- i wanted joy to still have her girl next door image since she's THE embodiment of this trope but funny enough, in this au, her and chris end up living together. plus, at the start of the au, she's quite young so her style would mature over the years. i also wanted to lean into the 2000s aspects of her clothes too

- her face in the series — when she isn't expressive— usually looks very bored (like an rbf), but i think it would grow to look like an unintentional scowl. don't worry, her expression doesn't affect how she really behaves. she's still the same energetic joy :)

- she swears by smokey eyes trust (i'm not even joking bc her model has smokey eyeliner in s1-3)

- changed her hair bc i thought her old one on the right looked a bit like her 2007 design

- added her iconic teapot pose bc that's one of her signatures at this point
