@satanwearsavneck || finally!
Weeks.
He’d been searching for weeks. Ever since he found out about the fire, about Eichen House and his brother’s escape he’d been looking. Finding him wasn’t easy, Peter didn’t seem to have too many friends in Beacon Hills who paid much attention as to his whereabouts. But the name Peter Hale traveled far and once and their identical looks didn’t exactly work against him either. Peter had money, he’d found out that much, although he did remember the Hale pack had always been rather fortunate.
It had been such a long time, almost a lifetime - since they saw each other and then there was the fact he wasn’t even sure if Peter would want to see him after all this time. He definitely couldn’t sneak up on his office, given that his own heartbeat was so loud it gave him a headache. But he also didn’t want to sneak up on him, he had no reason to - he was pack, right?
Sweaty palms curled into a fist, hand raised and yet ..lingered only a breath from the door. C’mon, do it. It’s not that hard. Seemingly half an hour later Vincent finally knocked. He smelled him, he knew he was in there, which wasn’t helping his nerves any.
The knock made Peter blink up from his laptop. He had sensed the person coming up but didn’t bother greeting them. He was a very busy man. He had six meetings to handle that day alone, and did not have time to get up and greet whoever was at his door.
When the door opened Peter spared a fleeting glance and felt his heart stutter.
He was looking into a mirror. That had to be the explanation. There was no way that this thing entering the room was anything real.
“What are you?”
Peter kept his face completely blank as he stared at the creature approaching. He tensed and stared closely, making sure he did not come too close without Peter having a way out. The button directly to his left would page help, and the window behind him could be busted out. Peter always had a plan and he never failed to be prepared.

Scott’s heart stopped during the horrendous silence that absorbed the room. He was lucky Mr.Hale didn’t slap him, or worse, fire him. He counted his blessings and gave a small smirk, “You won’t regret giving me this opportunity, I promise,” he says confidently, but graciously. His feet carry him toward the door, letting himself out with an extra little bounce in his step.
Peter really doubted that the boy would ride to the level he needed to in order to get a raise, but he was worth letting him try.
He did have to give him props for being so bold, though.
As Peter got back to work he set Scott out of his mind completely and focused back on his job.

His arms wrap loosely around himself, shoulders shrugging. “Easiest point to grab.” He certainly wasn’t going to try and think on anything else Peter said in there more than he had to. That was too complicated. It made him feel complicated.
He’s almost comfortable enough he could though, with the wolf’s hand on the back of his neck. The lingering touch is soothing no matter how simple. He loves it. That was too emotional as well, but of course Stiles’ specialty was still avoidance.
“So uh… Where’d everybody go, anyway? I mean- should we be getting to work or…”
“They left. We can get to work whenever you feel like you’re ready for it. Whether that’s in an hour or in a week.”
Peter checked his phone and nodded.
“Food will be here in about forty-five minutes. Would you like to turn on a movie?”
That would offer Stiles a chance not to talk or think too much, Peter thought. And he could stay close without being too awkward. He wanted to be there for Stiles for as long as he could, holding on to him. But he didn’t want Stiles to get awkward or later resent him for it so he wanted to offer options.
PSA: if you ever see me do a tag and I say “tagging whoever wants to do it,” and you think “she probably doesn’t mean me, though.” I do. I mean you. Say I tagged you. I want to read your stuff, I promise. Tagging people just takes Energy that I don’t always have and am not always sure who wants to be tagged. But please, if you ever see me do a game, and you think “wow I want to do that!” Even if I do tag other people, just do it. Say I tagged you. I will not mind, in fact, I will be happy to see your stuff. Ok? Good. That is all. Carry on.

“Obey? What are you, my mom? Last I checked you’re not even an alpha anymore,” Jackson grumbled. However, the prospect of rinsing off and not having to go home and try to explain this to his parents was pretty appealing. They were much more hawkeyed since the whole… dying and coming back to life thing
He washed up quickly and efficiently, and toweled off. It wasn’t long before he reemerged, refreshed, and clean. He couldn’t help but admire the clean lines of the modern interior design Peter seemed fond of. Jackson wandered through the halls, interest piqued. He wondered what Peter’s motivation for trying to look after him was. Maybe he was just desperate to have a pack. Maybe it was a gambit to become an alpha again. Only time would tell.
“Tea. And I’m hungry so I ordered pizza.”
Peter called to Jackson and set out a mug. He sipped his own and slowly studied the young man.
He was right, Peter did desperately need a pack. And if he could attract little oddballs like Jackson, then he would whip out the manners.
“Clean? You can throw your clothes into the washer to try and get some blood out.”
