The Life Given: I Learned It The Hard Way
All my life, I’ve been living a fast-phase life. Hopping from one thing to another. Everything runs smoothly. I’m in my best condition of my life and in my best understanding about the person that I am.
Until several events happened and it changed the way I see my life, the way I see my self.
I came to point zero.
All of a sudden, I feel like I’ve lost everything that I know was right. The person who were once always know where to go one hop after another, suddenly lost its way, lost its sight.
Long story short, I came into a realization that there’s no turning back. So I finally managed myself to do a start-over.
Apparently, rebuilding life from scratch was not as easy as it seems. Here’s why.
Self-acceptance is much harder than I ever thought Imagine a situation where you can almost always managed everything smoothly with only little efforts, people goes in the same direction with you, and you can be whatever you want to be. The life as you know it. Then, without permission, it was taken away. It was hard for me to accept that everything I touched turned into a mess, people walking away, and I didn’t seem to make any progress – even the smallest one.
I didn’t have what it takes I never need to work so hard to do whatever I need to do. Almost without any effort, everything was there. All I need to do was just grab everything and put it to where it needs to be. Now that everything I knew seemed being taken away – even what I knew about myself, what did I have left? In what possible way could I have my life back, if I didn’t have what it takes to rebuild it?
I couldn’t hear my own voice Those life-changing events happened so fast that myself was not prepared. Too many things fell into pieces, yet so many things need to be grabbed and rebuilt. Everything felt so crowded, that I couldn’t hear my voice. I couldn’t find what myself really want out of that situation.
It wasn’t until I realize that,
It isn’t self-acceptance that’s hard. Forgiving yourself for bringing your life into such certain point of mess is.
It’s not that you don’t have what it takes to get things back on track. It’s that you’re unable to see what you have within yourself, being grateful for it, and start with what you have in front of you is.
It’s not that you’re unable to hear your own voice. It’s that you’re too busy listening to what other people say about their expectation of you at the situation that you’re facing.
If you ask me where I am now, I’m still not where I’m supposed to be. There are still a lot of times where I questioned about everything – about myself. But, it’s been too long that I’ve unconsciously being too hard on myself. It’s time for me to say enough.
No, it hasn’t been easy as well. I still stumble and fall often times.
But that’s life, isn’t it? You’ve got to come into a point where you need to tell yourself that it is okay to fall, it is okay to fail, and it is okay to be broken into pieces. At the end of the day, you will always have the choice whether to keep stumbled on the ground, or to manage yourself and get back up again.
After all, nothing is coincidence about the season you are in now. Every dots connect.
The way I see it now, I’d like to let myself live life as it is given. No matter how slow or how a roller coaster ride it is. I’d like to believe that there will always be a blessing waiting at the end of the tunnel.
