The other issue with comparing different angsty events to Mizu5 is how up to a certain point we're disregarding the full extent of the conflict presented just to make a sloppy parallel. Maybe take your blorbos despair as is and don't immediately think "this is just like Mizu5"

i might be reading into this too much (or overthinking it), but i find the idea of taking an event like mizu5, something grounded in reality involving a topic that should be handled and discussed seriously, and constantly attempting to compare it to other events with way less serious stakes or focused on less grounded scenarios (for lack of a better term) is ... definitely something

Tbh, I think it's more of a stress response "If reading this messed me up real bad, then the other thing might also"

Plus the other stories are still grounded in reality and even if they're not comparable to a story featuring a trans woman, they still tackle delicate subjects (with varying success *cough* Saki)

But I do get what you're going at, it does look like people are invalidating a story about a trans woman, by using her event as the building block for their cheap angst. But this post is about how those comparisons don't even engage with the events featuring the characters they want to torment, so it's a lose/lose situation for anyone who cares about the story

very very very loooong story short. mizuki is canonically trans and was terrified of telling ena bc they met online and ena thought she was cis so she kept pulling away and ena kept dragging her back and promised her she'll wait for her to tell her what is bothering her by her side, forever if necessary (ena is impatient and impulsive and waits for no one btw) and mizuki promised to tell her when she's ready but thinks, "i lied to her. i thought she'll be by my side forever, if i never tell her" and then when mizuki got horrifically outed by some classmates ena kept on chasing after her (literally, on her noodle legs, she chased her for 3km and collapsed and couldnt walk anymore and pls keep in mind ena is weak and slow and mizuki is like. rly athletic) and she fought for her tooth and nail so they could be together again and told her nothing, nothing would compare to the pain of losing her and accepted her fully and unconditionally VOTE FOR THE T4C YURI EVER also they always bicker, they're raigebaiter x raigebaited, they love shopping together, are both foodies, they both like make up and fashion, mizuki fixes ena's clothes, it is implied ena painted mizuki for her art school assignment titled "my tranquility" and they're cherry tree colored (pink & brown) bc their love story starts and ends with a cherry tree and they have matching white dresses with matching cherry blossom rings VOTE FOR THEM RN they're the most in love ever 🌸

and im not even scratching the surface with this there’s hundreds of hours of content and their dynamic and their character development and the way their relationship changed is sooo satisfying 😭
