i’m rewatching shameless right but i also can’t stop thinking about the pitt,,

i’m on s4 ep6 where liam got into coke and just imagine,,,

dennis finally checking his phone in the middle of a shift to see a ton of missed phone calls from lip

he calls him back as he’s walking out to the ambulance bay and someone on shift (maybe dana and she tells robby or trinity to check on him) hears the very beginning of his phone call (or just him hurriedly walking out with a phone up to his ear)

lip calling him saying he needs to come home, fiona is in jail for drug possession and child endangerment and liam is in the pediatric icu from acute cocaine overdose

dennis, who knows the effects of overdose especially on a child is freaking out, worried about who’s going to take care of his siblings and if fiona is okay while also being so pissed off at her and worried about liam and the effects on his body.

robby or trinity goes outside to check on him (either in the middle of the call or at the end idk) dennis either throws a typical gallagher fit (kicking shit while yelling fuck very loudly) or he just turns to whoever found him with tears in his eyes saying his family called, his 3 year old brother just overdosed on cocaine and his sister is in jail and he needs to go to chicago right now

Rewatching Sense8 10 years later as an adult is a totally different experience. Watching it I felt my younger self feel so connected and inspired by these characters and their relationships….. to this day it’s such a shame they had to cram so much into that last episode but what they DID do in those final moments is so beautiful and powerful still even now. It’s also a huge fuck you to Netflix ending with a queer wedding on top of the Eiffel Tower and the bow on top is one more final sex scene with so many different kinds of bodies in beautiful slow motion as they all come together to climax??????? With a newly thruplized Indian man having sex with his wives German boyfriend saying breathlessly “I never knew such things were possible” ??!!!!?!?!???!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!?!?!?!???!???Genuinely kill me dead.

Vampires Dennis and Trinity getting busted by Jack on their first day at the pitt.

He'd bought a second hand record decades ago for a partner at the time and a few polaroids had fallen out of the sleeve with "D&T, the rose and thorn, 7/4/79" inked on the bottom.

A young pair, a man and a woman. He'd assumed, from the way they're draped over each other, that they're a couple on a night out. Wine glasses lolling, a lively moment captured into stillness, as they have what seems to have been a very animated conversation.

Every time he sees the pictures he wonders who they are and what happened over their lives. To have been seemingly in their mid 20s in 79 they'd be in their 80s now, if they'd made it this far. Did they stay together? Lose touch and never think of each other again? Would they still remember that night?

As the years had passed and the photo couple -he'd settled on Dean and Terri for their names- had become the longest constant in his life, he'd moved the pictures to the fridge door. Chatting merrily to them on good days and resentfully glaring, barely able to stand their perfectly preserved joy, on his worst days.

Visitors have asked about the photos, because of course they have, and Jack has variously claimed them as friends and/or family before moving the conversation on to avoid the questions about the VERY dated hair and clothing styles putting the pictures as having been taken when Jack was a child. Older cousins was the story for a while. The one time Robby and Dana came over for what ended up being a catastrophic dinner, doomed not to be reattempted, he'd passed them off as having been med school mates on a themed night out.

As he's walking in to help the day shift with the pittfest casualties, Robby pulls him into a hug and as he surveys the ED floor over his friend's shoulder he just. freezes.

It's them.

They're here.

That's impossible.

And over the next few minutes he's almost convinced himself he's wrong and it's their relatives or maybe he's just spotted the bizarrest set of doppelgangers when the pair are talking to each other and life imitates art.

It's an IO drill and a blood bag rather than wine glasses but they're looking at each other the same way, their hands gesturing in the exact same pose, and Jack nearly cries.

It's actually them.

They're really here.

There's only one way that's possible.

dennis whitaker but he was originally named dennis hargreeves.

he escaped or just ran from the responsibilities and expectations of the academy, but just like in season one they all got pulled back together eventually.

i imagine he would have some sort of healing power? or maybe something completely unrelated because number one didn’t grace (and pogo???) patch up the kids when they were hurt? and number two if he was a healer i doubt he would have been allowed to go out and fight (reginald is like that)

maybe klaus shows up in the ED because of his propensity to overdose, or maybe whoever else decides to track him down.

i’d love to see especially trinity’s reaction to dennis being one of those little super kids in the matching costumes taking down bad guys. i feel like she wouldn’t let it go and would ask if he still has the outfit.

imagine robby’s and abbot’s reactions to knowing dennis was a badass kid (but also heartbreak at being forced into that life as a kid)

idk if someone would like to write a pitt x umbrella academy fic i would sooooo eat it up

reginald hargreeves shows up to rural nebraska trying to purchase the baby that was miraculously birthed.

the whitakers, being hardcore religious freaks, absolutely refused because they believed dennis was the second coming of christ.

COULD YOU IMAGINE the entire town treating dennis like jesus christ reborn and the amount of stress and expectation that boy must’ve had to deal with growing up?

maybe he put up with it and ran away to college at 18 because he couldn’t stand the treatment when he KNOWS he’s just a guy, or maybe growing up it slowly became obvious to his family that he was not a miraculous miracle from god.

maybe over time they eventually started seeing dennis as actually being sent by the devil(HELLOOOO SUPERPOWERS), and unfortunately the whitakers did not save reginald’s number to pawn him off, but they sure as hell treated him terribly enough to cause him to want to run off.

or maybe they ended up finding reginald hargreeves (because yeah they live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere but he’s a rich guy who purchased babies for a superhero team) and selling dennis off when he’s older, in an attempt to get rid of “the devil child their family had been cursed with.”

oooo if they sell him when he’s older (assuming reginald even accepted the deal. crazy angst opportunities with “he could’ve had siblings but even that was taken from him” but i digress) maybe he never really feels like he fits in with the other hargreeves kids especially because he’s the only one with an actual name.
