***All PROFITS from the sale of this book go to SAVE THE CORD FOUNDATION (a 501c3 non-profit)*** Art connects people, opens our minds and prompts conversation. That is the goal of Save the Cord Foundation’s Young Artists Program–to connect, open minds and start conversation. Save the Cord Foundation (www.SaveTheCordFoundation.org) developed the Young Artist Program in an effort to communicate directly with young families and educate them about the life-saving medical benefits of saving a child’s umbilical cord blood at birth. Cord blood is being used today to treat 80+ different diseases including sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy and leukemia. Yet, today over 95% of cord blood is discarded as medical waste! It is vital that expecting parents learn about the life-saving uses of cord blood and are given an opportunity to either donate their child’s cord blood or save it privately. The theme for the 2012 Young Artists Program is "Create, Give, Share." Numerous children from around the world, aged 2 to 8 years old, have contributed their art to this year's program. We have featured all of their work here in this book paired with classic childhood stories and rhymes. Our goal has been to produce a project which can be both enjoyable and educational. All of the artwork featured in this book can also be enjoyed online at www.YoungArtistsProgram.org
Just released, the revised edition of our Young Artists Program presented by Save the Cord Foundation. This book makes a lovely gift for young families. . .filled with lovely children’s poetry and original artwork by those are just starting to learn how important cord blood is as a medical resource. In addition, we are now welcoming submissions for 2016. Visit: www.YoungArtistsProgram.org
Pro-Active Parents Needed! Cord blood banking is one of those topics that overwhelms people. Many hospitals are still not connected with the National Public Cord Bank Inventory and so the option of cord blood donation is never brought up during pre-natal visits. Parents need to be informed, ask questions, speak up for what they think is best. . . Save the Cord can help: http://www.savethecordfoundation.org/cord-blood-banking-pro-active-parents-needed/
The beginning is the most important part of the work.

PREGNANCY MAGAZINE hosts Google Hangout with Save the Cord Foundation
We are so excited to share our latest project with you! Recently, we were invited by “Pregnancy Magazine” ( www.pregnancymagazine.com) to lead a Google Hangout focused 100% on answering the question: SHOULD I SAVE MY CHILD’S CORD BLOOD? Of course, our short answer is YES!!! But, wouldn’t you like to know why? And how to do it? Or even who you might help by saving your child’s cord blood?
To answer these and other questions we have received, we invited a panel of experts and parents to discuss, debate and decide. Our discussion was informative and passionate (on both sides). Watch the video here to find out how our panel of experts and parents answered these questions: http://youtu.be/eAAzQeGS4QE
