He murmured as the shock gradually died down, and he was getting more and more aware of his surroundings. “N-no, no, please. I’ll be fine. I’m okay, I promise.” Taking him to a hospital would certainly raise alarms when they found out he’s not human.
"I j-just… I just need to go home. My sister."
Jailbait.
"I need to call my sister. Can I use your phone?"
"I am fine." His tone notched up a little, but only to raise a point. He felt too weak, his whole body aching like an enormous bruise. He allowed her to wipe off the dirt from his face, his fingers tingling even when he moves an inch. "Yeah, Jill. My sister." He blurted out, knowing that the mentioned hears him anyway. He just wanted to confirm that he’s fine. That he’s going home. That there’s nothing to worry about. Especially with the latest circumstances that hit their little family in Palm Springs, an occurrence like this may earn him someone tailing him all the time and just…. no.
"No, you don’t understand. I just need to go home." He sought her eyes, so tempted to just push his will on her to do it anyways, but he didn’t. Instead he did what a normal human would do. He begged. "Please, Cassie. I have no idea where my car is. I just need to go home." He sighed at her question, grimacing as he tried to recall what happened. "It’s a long story." Starting with… I don’t really know.
"Jill...right. Okay, I think I know which one that is. Ro may have mentioned her..." Cassie said, fumbling for her phone. She'd taken down Adrian and Jill's number a long time back, the moment Ro had become friends with him. It seemed a little extreme, because she didn't know the guy, herself, very well, but it had seemed appropriate in case Ro was out with him and was in trouble. Now, especially, it seemed handy. She just hoped it wasn't a bogus number, and if it was, she could always just use his phone. She decided to use his phone, because it would be less of waste of time.
"It's okay...I'll drive you," she said. "I have my car. But...okay, you have to give me your word. I trust you, because Ro seems to trust you, and you have to give me your word that if something goes wrong and you need a lift, you'll call Ro or me, okay?" She felt like the most irresponsible person doing this. She was supposed to get him to a hospital! When Ro had injured her arm, he'd helped her to the nurse. He seemed in a worse position now, and she was letting him go without help. Maybe it's for the best. Maybe it's something you don't want yourself or Ro involved in, she told herself. But..he's a friend.

Frowning, she shook her head, although she did take out her phone. "No way. You need a doctor. Nobody will be able to help you at your sister's school. We can call her on the way or..or...what the hell happened to you anyway?"
