Born and raised in Aurora Bay, Savannah spent most of her childhood barefoot on the beach, learning to surf alongside her mother. The ocean quickly became her safe place, and every surfboard she's owned since her very first has been pink, a tradition she continues to this day.
Her parents' love story shaped the way she views the world. Her mother came from an incredibly wealthy family but walked away from that life to marry Savannah's father, choosing love over family expectations. When her mother passed away while Savannah was seventeen, she left behind not only a trust fund, but the values that would continue guiding her daughter long after she was gone.
Determined to escape the grief that lingered around every corner of her hometown, Savannah enrolled at Dartmouth to study Business Administration. She convinced herself that putting thousands of miles between herself and Aurora Bay would make moving on easier... until life threw her a curveball.
At twenty-one years old, she unexpectedly found herself pregnant. The father disappeared shortly after learning the news, leaving Savannah to make an impossible decision on her own. She dropped out of college, returned to Aurora Bay, and prepared to become a mother without the future she'd always imagined.
Rather than letting her inheritance sit untouched, Savannah used part of the trust fund her mother left behind to buy a modest home in Seabrook Quarter, wanting to give her daughter the stability she deserved. The rest was immediately placed into a college fund for the little girl she hadn't even met yet.
A few months before turning twenty-two, she welcomed her daughter, Poppy, into the world. Becoming a mother changed every plan she'd ever made, but never once made her regret them. If anything, it gave her a new definition of home.
Now twenty-seven, Savannah shares her life with five-year-old Poppy and their oversized golden retriever, Sunshine. Despite having enough money to never work another day in her life, she chooses to work as a barista at one of Driftwood Coffee, finding far more fulfillment in familiar faces, early mornings, and the sense of community than she ever could in luxury.
Most days revolve around simple pleasures: getting Poppy ready for kindergarten, grabbing coffee before an early shift, spending afternoons by the ocean, and teaching her daughter to surf on a pink board just like the one her own mother once gave her. Savannah has learned that grief never truly disappears; it simply makes room for joy, and she's determined to fill her daughter's life with as much of it as she possibly can.
