Spine tingling poetry!
I had no idea horror poetry was even a thing until I stumbled across a Bood Riot article about it, and I absolutely had to check it out.
Undead: A Poetry Anthology of Ghosts, Ghouls, and More edited by Bianca Lynne Spriggs and Katerina Stoykova-Klemer - Antologies are always a good place to start when exploring a new literary arena, so, since I’m new to this genre of poetry, I decided to pick Undead. This selection features all the best undead figures from legend, myth, and folklore with poetry from dozens of talented contributors, including several poets of color. And I had to give it a try because it has a really cool cover.
A Collection of Nightmares by Christina Sng - “Dream carefully. You’ve already made your bed. The nightmares you have now will not be kind. And you have no one to blame but yourself.” This sounds like such a delightfully chilling read with promises of a black dreamscape of your darkest fears, and the cover art is gorgeous!
I can’t wait to dive into both of these books! Have you read any horror poetry before?
This is the perfect time to read books with a bit of decay!
What are some of your favorite zombie books?
