No one ever considers me when they're doing stuff that's completely irrelevant to me
Amazing Spider-Man #187 (1978)
Carl is "avoids politically charged language but holds beliefs he doesn't realise are political" to a hilarious extent. He incited revolution against an empire live on TV. He planted a bomb on a political agent. He made speeches about how the rich and powerfull are assholes. Cuba? oh, he doesn't know about Cuba, he's not interested in politics.
MONGO IS APPALLED
(Art by Layna of Lund, Discord)
Dungeon Crawler Carl really came out here and said the human race can out-stubborn fucking anything, asks what survival is and what you're willing to do for it, and how you carry the weight. that capitalism is violence, and that it breeds violence. that we need to hold each close and do what we can to help when we can, because what else is there?
....it also made me read the word nussy in a context where it makes sense.
One of the things that impressed me the most about Dungeon Crawler Carl (mind you, I went in with zero expectations) is that not only it manages to turn a talking cat into fully realized, complex character who is still unmistakably *a cat*, but also that the cental relationship of the series - this kind of strong, unshakable bond between the main characters that never fails to make you emotional over how much they mean for each other - is unmistakably a relationship between a man and a cat. Not just nominally, but in a way that is instantly recognizable for anyone who ever owned and loved a cat. And mind you, it's not for the lack of other relationships - Carl finds new friends and comrades, and each of them is important for him in their own right, but still THE most important person in his life is a cat and as a cat person I think that's beautiful

Do you think the headless horseman ever. Yknow. With the pumpkin. With his own pumpkin
(losing a trinket important to me): it’s just plastic. It’s just material. Someone else will find it and it’ll brighten up their day. If i really want to i can replace it. Loss is natural in love. Life isn’t fair and i’ll tear up earth and sky if i knew i could find you again under the covers of my pillows. But like, it’s $16.67 to replace. I’m okay.
you have to realize that you CAN keep everything perfect and safe, but you’ll never get to fully enjoy them. Sweaters get stretched. Stuffed animals get worn. Earrings get lost. and love turns to grief. If i want to be happy, i have to know that sadness is the little brother who holds her hand.
Nvm. Trinket was found and i’m now keeping it locked up forever so i can’t ever lose it again
2015? that wasnt even that long ago. it was only... [doing the math] ohhh. ohhh..... oh dear...
The Gotham weather adds to the angsting potential
Bruce: who are you? A new crime lord?
Jason: *takes off his helmet*
Bruce: *squints suspiciously* a new crime lord who looks like a grown up version of my dead son?
Jason: *sighs in annoyance and forces a bright smile*
Bruce: JASON THE NEW CRIME LORD???
