The Masterlist of Lists, v3.01
The original post, [The Masterlist of Lists, v2], was getting very long, and I worried it was in danger of dead-linking. To solve that problem, I have split it up into two posts - the first (this post) will contain the FAQs and 101 posts, as well as the general resource lists; the second will contain all the individual spell and sigil lists I have made during my time on this blog.

Materials:
A picture frame ($1-$10)
Black acrylic paint ($1)
A paint brush/sponge ($1)
Newspaper (free)
Step one:
Take the frame apart and paint one side of the glass with the black paint, making long even strokes
Wait for the paint to dry completely (or if you are impatient like me blow dry it)
Paint a second coatâŠ.wait for it to dry
After the second coat is dry hold it up to a light source and if any light comes through
If any light comes through add another coat
repeat until no light shows through
Step two:
Flip the glass over to see if any paint go on the reflective side, if so gently scrape it offÂ
Take some glass cleaner or a natural alternative and clean the fingerprints off of the glass
Step three:
Carefully resemble the frame, being wary of the paint on the backÂ
Final Product:
Enjoy! In total this DIY took me 25-30 minutes (mostly due to drying time)
I think it turned out wonderfully and I hope you enjoy your own! đđđ

You can also print the Bodet cards from 1739 by clicking here.
DarkTarot.com has another printable traditional deck available for personal use. Please note the copyright.
Once youâve decided which deck(s) you want to print, save the printable tarot cards to your computer. Avoid printing directly from the browser as you might end up with some weird and unwanted results (trust me on this).
Print out the tarot cards on your chosen paper. Make sure that you print them in the standard tarot deck size. If youâre not sure that the size is right, do a test print of one card so you donât destroy the entire paper. If you printed the images on regular paper and want a good backing, then you need to use spray adhesive to glue the paper to the actual cards.
Carefully trim the edges of the cards - some people like rounded edges, so make sure you have enough place for the borders.Â
Once the cards are printed, let them dry and then seal them with a varnish spray. After that, run them through a laminator. These days laminators are pretty affordable, and if you find yourself creating lots of tarot decks, you might want to invest in one.  You can also take the files to office supply stores (such as Office Depot in the USA) for printing and laminating.

For a shorter overview of the history, you can look at tarot author Mary K. Greerâs blog post What Every Newbie Tarot Reader Should Know About the History and Myths of Tarot and the TarotL History and Information Sheet.
History of Womenâs Tarot - Tarot as a keystone of the Womenâs Spirituality movement branches off in a different direction from the mainstream in the mid-1970âs.
Make sure you do some reading about Pamela Colman Smith. Smith is the artist who designed the artwork for the Rider-Waite-Smith deck (the worldâs most popular tarot deck, and the one most people think of when they hear the word âtarotâ) in 1909. Â
Smith based her RWS deck design on the Tarot de Marseille.
Smithâs creation of individual scenes on the cards of the minor arcana was a huge leap forward in tarot deck design, and contributed mightily to the enduring popularity of the RWS deck.
You can see examples of her non-tarot artwork here and here.  Donât forget her book Susan and the Mermaid!
One thing to keep in mind about Pamela Colman Smith is that she made a deliberate decision to reduce or eliminate the Christian imagery found in the early tarot decks.  For exampleâŠ.
The Hanged Man image comes from the medieval Italian practice of hanging traitors upside down (Fun Fact: at the end of WWII, Mussolini was hanged upside down to mark him as a traitor; and please be warned that link is GRAPHIC and TOTALLY NSFW).  That practice was inspired by the death of Judas Iscariot in the Bible, where Iscariot is described as falling âheadlongâ (Acts 1:18). In the earliest tarocchi decks, the Hanged Man is depicted with bags of money, or with coins falling out of his pocket, a reference to the infamous thirty pieces of silver Iscariot was paid for betraying Jesus Christ.
The World card can be seen in many churches and ancient Christian manuscripts, usually showing Christ ascending into heaven surrounded by symbols of the Four Evangelists.
Smithâs High Priestess replaced La Papessa (the Papess, a female âPopeâ figure) in the deck.  Lots of folks assumed that this image was inspired by the legend of Pope Joan, but evidence suggests that the image is a female allegorical figure for the Roman Catholic Church (which claims the title âThe Bride of Christâ)

Glamoring!
First Notes
This is a silly introduction to Glamor magic and it will be expanded upon. It is also posted privately in my group, The Dark and Light.
(Warning for occasional language)
Introduction
Glamor magic is the practice of utilizing subtle energy for the art of illusion. While it does not create physical illusions or accomplish impossible feats, it can be useful for very many different things. In essence, glamor magic is a combination of impressions, perceptions, senses, mundane action (depending on the glamor), and emulation.
Usually, spirit workers and travelers are accustomed to using their impressions to be able to sense a spirit or a place. Glamor is taking that perception and altering it by projecting and emulating impressions rather than having them. Even if one is not familiar with sensing and consciously directing energy, glamor can still be practiced. Here are some examples of how they can be done.
Sneaky Sneaky
Most people understand this concept as invisibility in the form of making one less noticeable. Typically, accomplishing this is done through blending personal energy with surrounding energy, silencing, or making something or something obsolete in the minds of others. It can be used for shielding, making people forget things, and for trying to call attention away from you.
Exercise: when you are out and about, notice who is paying attention to what. Gather their perceptions in your mind and play up what they are already noticing while projecting the feeling upon yourself that you are not there. The goal of this exercise to weave yourself into your surroundings until you are markedly less noticed than you were before (be safe with this, as you dont want to be in a busy place where not noticing you can cause injury)
Beacons
This is especially useful for tracking small items. What a beacon glamor does is it makes the energy of person or object loud bright or otherwise easy to find. You have to be careful with this because it will not only be easier for you to detect, but for other people and spirits as well. This is accomplished much in the way of the first, except that you making things more noticeable. Another useful bit about this is that if you are in a group in public, you can make your company/group of friends/etc. beacons so that you can easily find them if you are lost. Coupled with mundane methods of finding people, this will help you gravitate towards the beacon (and they, you, if you make yourself a beacon to them).
Exercise: Take a pen or something else that is small that you easily lose and notice the impression it gives you. Feel this impression growing stronger for a time until the small object has a larger presence. Take some clothes and spread them on the floor, standing away from them, and toss the item into the clothes behind you. Practice turning around and immediately identifying the object or at least gravitating towards it until you are sufficiently tuned to the energy of the beacon. I like to take my hand and, while turning around, point in the direction that feels right to me.
Tuning Bridges
This one is specifically for tuning realms (originally so I could bring spirits into an area that did not resonate with their homes. Alfar typically dont seem to venture out of where theyre comfortable at). This is accomplished by calling up the energy of a specific place and tuning it into the energy of the existing physical place. If you ever noticed that different times can alter the impression a place gives you, then this next exercise will be a lot easier for you.
Exercise : When you have the chance, take in your surroundings. Recall every time that particular place has felt a certain way and then recall what a realm does or would feel like to you. Feel the presence of both places merge in this space you create. Notice how the realm feels more and more like it is there with the physical place. Notice how it manifests for you each time you practice it as it may be different. When you are done, cleanse the space or dismiss the âbridgeâ you have created. When that is done, youâll begin to notice the place as it was before.
Its Called Acting. Look It Up.
Ever feel like you just arenât prepared to handle a situation as you are now? This is your avenue. Iâve used this to emulate personality traits to the point where theyâve become integrated into who I am as it was my method of coping with things. Iâve found a passion for entertaining people because of it.
Exercise : As with any other glamor, personality traits will also rely on impression and emulation. Take a role model or even just traits youâd like to have but donât already. From here, you can go one of two ways; magical personas (which is described in another thread) and gradual integration. The latter deals with practicing having these traits for multiple periods of time. Either way, you may feel silly when you practice having traits you donât already have. The point of this exercise is to overstep your typical boundaries and explore the self. Itâs actually useful for a number of things.
Go Away!
This was one of my first shields, actually! It was a simple little thing I put on my door and around my bed and I found everytime it happened, I wasnât obnoxiously woken up by my family members. Similar in the goal of a shield, this type of glamor deters people from entering a space or talking to you if you feel like a hermit sometimes. It can also work for getting a specific person or group of people to not talk to you because sometimes people can be annoying little shits.
Exercise : Determine the target of your glamor (yourself, a place, object, or another person) and begin with noticing their impressions and presence. Project the feeling that people should stay away from the target. You can visualize barbed wire or you could just pour your grumpy emotions around the target so other people will get a âBahumbagâ feeling, which typically makes people go away. You can use anything really, so long as the intent is to deter people from something or someone else.
Who Is the Fairest of Them All?
Many, many, maaaaannny people use this in at least a mundane way. We all like to be at least semi-presentable, right? If youâre someone who is a bit more vain about your looks like I am, this is a fun one to do.
Exercise : Look in the mirror and let your presence sink into your mind, visual and all. Look at each of your features, but donât put them down. I donât care if you think youâre rotten ugly, the point of this glamor is to feel visually beautiful, or handsome, or whatever you want to go for. Really look at your features and notice how awesome they are. Play with your facial expressions. Look at yourself from different angles. Be playful, fierce, sly, maginificent. Now when you go out or interact with other people, radiate that feeling to other people. Make them notice the you that you notice.
You Dun Fucked Up, Son.
Curses are just plain fun. Especially when you really, really have a reason to curse someone. This glamor involves warping a personâs life by altering how other people view them. I will warn you, this could get potentially nasty.
Exercise : Think of a person (either one you know or a certain type of person. Your imagination can run wild with this) and build up an image of them in your head. This will be your âspiritual poppetâ that you can warp to your hearts desire. The goal is to use this poppet to alter the perception others have of said person to the point where they react sourly to the target and then bad situations ensue. You can do something like making a beacon out of their actions or traits to let others realize what kind of person they really are or you can just have at it in any creative way you can come up with. Really, there are a lot of possibilities for it.
Could i make a request for âi will be a healthy weightâ or âi will reach my goal weight soonâ? Or if you have a better way to word it that would be awesome!
âI will reach my goal weight soon and in a healthy mannerâ sigil
I have declined from making weight related sigils before because they have the potential to be a bit dangerous. How much weight will be lost/gained? Is it a healthy weight of muscle, fat, water? You never know how strong a sigil will be and with something like weight it could get out of hand. The reason I made this one is because I think it is specific enough that it isnât as dangerous. I still want to caution anyone who uses it though. Be conscious of it. If itâs not working how you want it to or it starts going too far destroy the sigil, deactivate it right away.
Tips for writing spells:
If you want to keep something close, bury it in your back yard. If you want to attract something, bury it under the front door step If you want to destroy its influence, burn it. If you want it to move away and sink, throw it in running water If you want to disperse it to a distance, throw it into a crossroads If you want to fix its influence, inter it in a five-spot pattern If you want it to work by means of spirits, bury it in a graveyard If you want to hide its point of origin, conceal it in a tree If you want it to work in secret, give it in food or drink If you want it to work by stealth, hide it in clothing or on objects If you want its influence to begin or strengthen, throw it East If you want its influence to end or weaken, throw it West If you want its influence to rise and fall cyclicly, float it in a tidal estuary
Oh, guys. Oh. Guys. This, if youâre ever stuck on how to perform a spell! Handy little guide of awesome.

DIY Magical Shower Disks
So you have seen our lovely bath magic spells but you cannot take a bath. Maybe you donât have a bath in your current residence, maybe you are physically unable to use bathtubs, maybe youâre just super stretched for time but want to get in some extra magical umph. Recreational Witchcraft is here for you.Â
Shower disks are traditionally used in the aromatherapy world to relieve congestion and other flu-symptoms while showering via the use of essential oils, but we will be bumping up their magical potential.
Basic recipe:
1 cup baking sodaÂ
1 tablespoon corn starch
1/3 cup of water
Muffin tins and muffin liners
Combine baking soda and corn starch (making sure there are no clumps), then slowly add in the water. Fill lined muffin tins about third of the way, then leave out for 24 hours to dry completely. Carefully take them out of the liners, add your essential oils, and place your disk somewhere in your shower that will allow them to dissolve slowly while you do your business. Bam. Youâre done.Â
Now onto the magic. All dry ingredients (herbs, spices, etc) should be added in with the baking soda and corn starch before the water is added. All essential oils should be added right before theyâre used (so when theyâre completely dry).
Cleansing and Purifying:
essential oil of rosemary
essential oil of lemongrass
dried peppermint leaves
dried lemon rinds
dried rosemary
Protection:
essential oil of lavender
essential oil of eucalyptus
dried basil leaves
dried lavender flowers
