We actually don't talk enough about how crazy it is that Alastor moved up serendering to Vox for Niffty.

Alastor was not sure that one good wound rip was going to be enough to make Vox think he was down for the count ready to serender. You have to rember they have fought for decades and Alastor never serendered before. We can asume the plan was to let Vox make him a bloody mess to really sell the serender. Lucky for Al, Vox is just that big of a egomaniac. The fact he put his one plan to break free of his soul deal in jeopardy for Niffty speaks volumes.
