I checked the staff page and this seems like a step towards how things were before the NSFW ban which is good but it would be useless if they still have auto-flaggers. But i’m overall glad, because tumblr needed this type of thing since like 2013

Here is the article that is provided explaining community labels explaining how they work and how they should be used. Please note that on the @staff blog that explicit artwork seems to be allowed under the new guidelines as long as it’s labelled appropriately and iOS app users may not be able to see it at all. But be careful regardless. Also, if you’re a NSFW artist or write erotic stories or fanfiction, you cannot monetize individual posts or links to your work with tipping with these community labels. I do not have tipping enabled on any of my blogs, so IDK if you can allow tipping on all of your posts or just specific ones you choose. I also dont know if staff changed how tipping works with this update, either. My only other criticism is that if someone flags your posts with needing a label I believe it should notify to the blogger first to address before staff should get involved. But that’s just my initial impression. EDIT: These are already affecting your dashboard and they’re automatically hiding posts from you. If you’re an adult and would like to enable NSFW posts on your dash and search or set things to “blur”, you have to go into your settings and change them.
