Honor and Promises | blazesignited
-- Kakashi had long forgotten how long they had been at this game of chase. Like a hell hound out for blood, the Shinobi's footsteps grew wider with every stride, his body spearing through the air like an arrow released from its bow.
-- Having finally settled at the new apartment he would be living in while carrying out his mission, the male received a confidential letter delivered by a courier ninja. An ill feeling of edginess immediately settled into him as soon as he had touched the sealed mail, only to turn into anxiety that gnawed him with every passing second. Intel had it that a confidential scroll was stolen by a ninja -- a spy that had taken the guise of a hidden leaf ninja. Kakashi narrowed his gaze as the letter crumpled in his clenched fists; it seemed that the exams were starting to get lax, the ninjas that were guarding the doors tricked by mere Genjutsu.
-- And right now even as he sprinted after the thief, Kakashi had to admit, he was rather impressed by the other's display of speed and agility, making the other a hard catch even for the ex-ANBU assassin. For a moment, the Shinobi felt his strength falter by the slightest. Having kept himself alert and awake for the past few days with not a single wink of sleep, Kakashi was starting to feel the strain.
-- His eyes then caught a sharp movement on his right, and his body moved faster than his mind thought, sending kunais flying in the very direction. Dull thuds were heard as they embedded themselves in sturdy tree trunks, missing their intended target. Despite so, Kakashi could smell the faint scent of blood permeating the air around them, giving him the knowledge that he had at least managed to graze the other.
-- With that assurance in his mind, Kakashi doubled in his efforts, his speed picking up even in his fatigued state. His endeavor was finally rewarded with the visual sightings of his target, the other dodging artfully between the trees. Proceeding with more care now, the Shinobi prepared himself for any traps, shuriken ready in his hand while he baited for the time to strike.
-- However, what he did not expect was the detection of another. The awareness of the new individual confused Kakashi; instead of sensing Chakra from the other, what he felt was something completely different...yet familiarly same. Unable to place a finger of what it was, the Shinobi could only forge his way forwards and if it came down to it, he'd have to fulfill his duty and mission.
-- To eliminate the enemy.
-- As they approached the clearing, the foreign energy pulsed even more clarity now, and Kakashi could feel the raw power the other extruded, despite the distance between them. Dangerous, it all but screamed at the Shinobi. But at this point of time, it was either fight or die with honor. Eye zeroed onto his fleeing target, Kakashi made one last burst of speed, flinging himself through the air in a final desperate attempt to close up the distance between them. Hands blurred in a variation of movements as he executed the Taijutsu upon the foe.
-- His efforts were countered, allowing the enemy to scramble to his escape once more, towards the distance of the foreign chakra bearer. With lesser obstacles in his way now, Kakashi could make out the figure that stood in a distance, his shocking pink hair bright like the moon on a cloudless night.
-- "Get out of the way!" The Shinobi shouted at the other as he and the thief steadily approached the male. Despite his caution of the other being a possible ally of the thief, Kakashi wasn't about to take chances to murder an innocent.
