BTS Supporting Jimin: What We Don’t See
When Jimin released Promise, it was such a special occasion for ARMY. It was his first official solo release of any kind. We got to hear his absolutely beautiful, angelic voice on a song he had poured his heart (and most likely tears) into.
But a few solo stans chose to mar this beautiful event with nonsensical solo stan chatter about no one from the group publicly posting to show support like Jimin always, without fail, does for the others.
It became a little worse when Taehyung later released Scenery and Jungkook posted his crazy but endearing lip sync version of the song and then quickly followed it with a similar video of Promise. For these solo stans it was:
Why do this for Taehyung and not Jimin?
Here’s the thing though: Just because we don’t see the support, doesn’t mean it isn’t there!!!
Firstly, before posting absolute nonsensical and baseless opinions to further victimize Jimin, think for a second about the boys’ personalities and habits. Take that into consideration.
It is JIMIN’S habit to publicly show support endlessly for the others. Once in a while others may do this, but it is not a habit. This is in JIMIN’S personality, not theirs. So expecting the boys to do something because we’re accustomed to seeing Jimin do it is just downright idiotic thinking.
Secondly, remove the selective vision glasses for a second and you will realize how truly proud and supportive the boys actually were.
1. Using any and all opportunity to have Jimin sing a little of his song during interviews…during which they all sported such huge smiles. The pride they had in that boy and his achievement was tangible.
2. Using any and all opportunity to do the little Promise ‘dance move/gesture’ with Jimin. Hell, to even come up with it in the first place shows something.
3. Namjoon actually helping Jimin work through the writing of the song. This man was actually THERE with Jimin writing this while helping him work through his emotions and you ask where the support was?
4. Hoseok actually putting time and thought into making Promise into a CD for Jimin since he obviously knows how much this one song means to him.
5. And generally, all the boys, especially Jungkook, always boosting Jimin’s confidence about his voice and talent when he seems to be down on it.
So, just because we don’t PUBLICLY SEE support for Jimin and his ventures from his members, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
And it is absolutely okay as well because he doesn’t need public validation from those closest to him. And if you find it in your mind believing that he does, then THAT is not okay.
We are no one to judge any of their intentions and actions based off of the 0.1% of their lives and interactions we are privileged enough to witness.
