He always said "No words could describe our relationship." Finally I found two and left a note on his doorstep With the simple words: "Toxic and inevitable."

“Where’s the fun in that?” he said, and his pout was purely for theatrical purposes. “I had the perfect setup ready. He was riding me the other day about not getting to know you and how I should try to see a different side of you and…well…” Sirius looked her up and down significantly, raising an eyebrow.
He really wished it was easier to make fun of her, but the sheer robe wasn’t doing him any favors.
“I mean…I can manage it. In theory. But I’ve never kept a thing from him before. I can’t imagine how you’d persuade me. I’m a very tough sell.”
If she’d glared at him before, it was nothing compared to this. But despite the intensity of her gaze, the only thing burning was her cheeks. She widhes he’d stop looking at her like that, but she refused to back down now. Instead, she crossed her arms in front of her and tried to make it look aggressive rather than defensive.
“And what, pray tell, do you want in exchange for the basic human decency I’m asking you to procure?”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” he said cheekily, nodding over at her hand closing around his. “I don’t think I’m actually allowed to touch you when you’re on the clock. Do I have to pay extra for this, or can we just call the next round at the pub even?”
“I’m a red-blooded male and I’m always on board with dim lighting and a breakfast buffet,” he said, putting his unclaimed hand to his heart like he was offended by the very fact she wouldn’t expect to see him here. One of the waitresses ––a blonde in a very revealing blue number that succeeded in turning Sirius’s head–– made the moment even better by tossing him a quick wink as she passed. “See? They love me here.”
“Long enough. Oh, Lily, Lily, Lily. Quite long enough to see plenty.”
She thrust his hands back at him with more force than was strictly necessary, the uneasiness in her stomach turning to lead as he spoke.
Oh, so that’s why people have morals.
And of all the fucking people to find her out, it had to be him. It had to be the one who’d trap her down with a smug grin instead of concerned eyes. “Shit,” she repeated, rubbing at her temples unconsciously. “It’s...it’s just a job,” she added, feebly (but whether that was for his benefit or hers, she wasn’t sure). “Listen, just...let me tell James, all right? Just resist the urge to ruin my life for a day or two. Can you manage that?”
things you should not think about your otp doing
-Person A waking up in the morning and turning over to tell Person B about their dream, only to realise that Person B doesn’t sleep in their bed anymore
-Person A getting distracted while they’re setting the table and accidentally setting a place for Person B
-Person A picking up the phone to call Person B and then putting the phone down again when they realize
-Person A grabbing a cushion whilst they watch a horror movie because they need Person B’s hand to hold
-Person A walking down a supermarket aisle and having to close their eyes because otherwise they’ll burst into tears at the sight of Person B’s favorite chocolate bar
-Person A spending hours sitting and looking through photo albums, carefully stroking Person B’s face with their thumb, because they know that they can never touch Person B again
-Person A not wanting to tidy up the house because Person B helped make that mess and they don’t want to forget about them
“No, I think you’re like James,” said Lupin, “who would have regarded it as the height of dishonor to mistrust his friends.”

There were more delicate ways to handle the situation, but Sirius had never been a fan of going the delicate route, especially not now.
Especially not when he was now standing face to face with the one person who he’d swear on his own grave would call him a dirtbag for frequenting an establishment like this, like the one they were currently in…..like the one he’d been sitting innocuously in the back of, taking the edge off a tough day at work with a drink, when he got the shock of his lifetime (and the show of a lifetime for that matter) when Lily bloody Evans of all people was the one who took the stage to bear all.
So in lieu of something sensitive, he greeted the redhead with a slow clap, shaking his head like he’d caught her with her hand in the cookie jar but his eyes lit up in a way that said something entirely different: you owe me one. But it was them, and he already knew that he’d never collect. Not when the alternate option was the chance to get under her skin anytime he wanted (a longtime goal of his, and one he’d proudly admit to).
“Well…well…..well,” he said, smirk still dancing across his face, and hands still slowly coming together. “You know I once asked James if you were flexible and he told me that it was between you and him? I didn’t realize he meant it was actually between you and him…and forty-some-odd strangers at the day shift of a gentleman’s club.”
Lily wasn’t sure how many times she blinked before her brain registered exactly how deep of shit she was in, but if she had to guess she’d say it was somewhere this side of fifty. Pulling her robe tighter with one hand (like that’ll help, her brain chimed in) and grabbing at his with the other (oh yes, because it’s the clapping that is making this obscene) she managed to stutter out a response.
“What...how...are...what are you doing here?”
She could have kicked herself. She knows what he’s doing here, it’s the same thing everyone else is doing here. Accusations of sleaziness rose to the tip of her tongue before she remembered that she really wasn’t in any position to judge. Instead, she changed her question.
“How long have you been here?”
summer daze //
Sirius has recently moved in with James following the schism with his family. He's been moody and withdrawn all summer, and with his best friend away all day long fulfilling a Ministry internship, the cagey runaway is left with nobody to spend the dog days of summer with... except for a certain redhead that seems to be perpetually hanging around the manor.
“Are they paying you for babysitting me?” Sirius asked, and that (and that alone) was how he announced his arrival into the room. It was ticking past noon but it was clear (perhaps too clear; subtlety had never been his strong suit) that he’d just woken up and hadn’t a care in the world. His hair was mussed up and he was wearing a just a bathing suit, which was probably a nice change for the visiting Lily: normally he could be expected to show up whenever he made his appearance in boxers and nothing else. She claimed he didn’t notice. He claimed that was bullshit. She claimed he just wasn’t used to not being noticed. He claimed she was blushing, and she pretended not to check. She always checked.
Although this technically qualified as his breakfast, Sirius went straight for the fridge and pulled out a beer; his new liquid-substantiated diet was possibly the only part of everyone being too on eggshells to call him out for misbehaving that he truly liked. “Because I have to say, if you’re going to send me to my room, I’d rather you send yourself up there with me.”
It was all in good fun, at this point; light teasing and the preparation for a swift punch onto the arm. She was always less ladylike when nobody else was around. He liked her best when nobody else was around. Somebody else probably should have been around, and perhaps he wouldn’t be trying so hard to tease her–– he was worried about what he’d do otherwise.
Keeping her gaze locked firmly above his shoulders, Lily shoved him none-too-gently into the fridge he was rummaging through before reaching for the shelf above the one he was currently crammed into and pulled out a pitcher of water. “Please, as if I’d ever make the mistake of claiming responsibility for you.”
She crossed the kitchen - grabbing a glass on her way - and sat at the island before pouring herself a glass, making a point to look as uninterested as possible as Sirius dislodged himself from the crisper. Truth be told, Lily didn’t exactly have a reason for being here. Originally she’d visited James, but she knew his schedule by now. She knew that he was gone most days - busy with his new internship - and that Sirius had, for some reason, taken his place. And yet, here she was. If she had to come up with something, she’d say she was just getting away from Petunia, but somehow that wasn’t quite right, either.
She looked over after he’d finally righted himself. “All right there?” she asked.

Sirius finds out that Lily moonlights as a stripper but instead of telling James and busting her he starts showing up during her shift and buying lap dances.
Really, Lily thought to herself as she picked limp bills out of the waistband of her knickers, it’s a little concerning how quickly I got used to this lifestyle. She’d only taken the job as a way to make ends meet after her mother died and her sister sold the house (the bloody bitch didn’t care that Lily had nowhere to go - so long as she was perfectly comfortable over in Surrey with her nob of a husband, nothing else mattered), but here she was, two months into her day job and she still hadn’t quit.
The simple truth of the matter was, money trumps morals.
At least when it’s just those lesser morals, like dignity and propriety. And the job’s only at night, anyway, so she’s really only half immoral. But as much as she’d like to gather up her pride and walk out of this place, she just couldn’t bring herself to give up the paycheck - it was good money.
And that was why currently found herself - dressed in ridiculous heels and a sheer robe covering very little else, mind - leaving the back room and stopping dead at the face that greeted her.
“Oh, shit.”
There’s something wrong with that level of perfection. It needs to be violated.
