The longest he’s ever held a job was in the month or so leading up to Rod’s 25th birthday. He’d feel terrible if he couldn’t get him anything, so he committed to a minimum-wage job, even though he hated it. He saved up enough to buy ‘Broadway Musicals of the 1940s’, to add to Rod’s extensive theatre-related book collection. When asked where he got the money to buy it, he just shrugged. He quit his job the day after.

headcanon. Nicky is a total dog person. He loves them, but he’s too lazy to take care of one. Rod is a cat person, but he’s allergic. Nicky really wants to get a pet, but Rod always wins, telling him they didn’t have the money or the time (or energy, in Nicky’s case,) to get one. One day, Rod comes home from work to find a stray dog/cat that followed Nicky home. He’s furious, but he’s kinda conflicted bc dammit it’s too cute BUT WE CAN’’T KEEP IT NICKY

They’d hardly spoken all evening, and Nicky just blurted out the first thing on his mind. He’d been genuinely curious as to what his mysterious internet doppelganger was like. He certainly wasn’t jealous of either of them in any way. Sure, Rod hadn’t had as much time to spend with him anymore, but that wasn’t as important as him being happy, and being with someone who loved him. And Nicky was totally content with their relationship. Why wouldn’t he be? They were friends, best friends, and it was his job as Rod’s 100% heterosexual wingman to help him with his relationship.
